Community Action to Save Strays (CATSS) A Trap-Neuter-Return organization in Oberlin that also finds homes for friendly stray cats & kittens

CATSS currently serves the city of Oberlin, Ohio and clients living within the Oberlin City Schools District. CATSS has been extremely successful in reducing the cat population in Oberlin. However, many of the calls we receive come from the communities of Lorain, Elyria, and Wellington. We do not currently have the resources to serve these areas. Please understand that we cannot assist individuals or cats outside of our defined territory.

Not every cat is an immediate lap cat, and that’s okay! Sam and Kylo are two of our shyer cats looking for loving and patient adopters. Both are very sweet and allow pets, but are still a bit fearful of humans, which means they are likely to hide for a while in a new place, at least at first.

They are both fixed and vaccinated. Sam, an unusual orange female, is FIV+, which means adopters will need to keep a close eye on her health. You can meet her during Open Hours at Lincoln street.

Shy cats can be harder to find homes for, but we believe that their future adopters are out there. These are both great cats and they will thrive in the right homes! Contact [email protected] to learn more about them.

Jack Witch and Jake are two beautiful and very lovable cats available for adoption after the death of their owner.

Jack Witch is an 8 year old male black cat who is personable and calm. He loves pets and sitting in his cat tree with his best mate, Jake.
Jake is also an 8 years old male gray cat who is considered a lap cat that loves to receive pets and wants to be with his human all day.

Both Jack Witch and Jake are up to date on all vaccinations and will provide vet records accordingly. They are both neutered and litter box trained.
We would prefer if they both stay together since they have been together all there lives but if it comes down to separate them I’m sure it would be okay.

You can add "will throw in a cat tree vet record and willing to do a vet visit auto make sure a clean bill of health. Also will throw in cat boxes and food and litter to get started."

He loves his humans and really just wants to be near you as much as possible. Big Joe is kept separate when unsupervised as he may want to be the alpha male. When we are home to monitor interactions all are free to wander and for the most part it has gone pretty well. I would have liked the introduction (with our cat) phase to last a bit longer but Joe kept climbing the 3 stacked baby gates ha ha!”

Here is Mel, enjoying the sunshine. She’s a really sweet cat, with gorgeous green eyes and a beautiful long tail, who just needed some time to adjust. She is one of the easiest cats I’ve ever known: she is clean, quiet and plays all by herself, mostly at night when she goes to her toy basket and chooses toys! She loves her cat cave, but comes out for cuddles and purrs. She would be such a good companion!

Some young cats are too busy exploring and playing to curl up on a lap, but not Clover. She’s all about getting as close to you as possible and purring a lot. She is a gentle soul who also likes to play and seems very curious about the other cats in our care. Oh, and did we mention that she’s also gorgeous? She has been spayed and is FIV/FELV negative. Astra is a sweet black kitty (with an eartip). She is shy at first but will eventually open up to you with up with pets, cuddles, and belly rubs. Very affection seeking once she gets to know you! Swaddled in a blankie is one of her favorite places to be! When not swaddled, you can find her playing with toys or sleeping in a corner with her brother, Orion.
