A bill is in the works that would overturn many amendments of the Lacey Act and will impact all animals other than cats, dogs, and traditional farm animals. If this passes it would make it illegal to transport any animal not on the “white list” over state lines even if due to a move, vet care, rehoming, or inheriting. Zoos and research facilities who specialize in keeping species from going extinct will be impacted.

Please contact your Senators and urge them to oppose this legislation. Sample letters available on usark.org.

The dynamic mother and daughter duo of Champagne’s Critter Sanctuary stopped by today and bought a toy for their beautiful blue and gold macaw Maverick.
