Here is an update on Kronos, our newest addition to the Legendary family. He is doing so well. He doesn’t chew on much that he is not allowed too. He loves stealing socks to carry around the house just like Rhea. Those two have became good friends even though at first she was not ok with him staying. Adding to your fur family can sometimes be difficult but remember to always encourage them to interact positively and set their own boundaries. Here are a few pictures we’ve taken 🙂 We love our little boy!

This past week has been incredible. We decided last week we were ready to bring another furbaby in after losing our baby girl Athena in March. So we would like to introduce everyone to our newest addition… Kronos. He is a sweetheart he has been so well behaved 🙂

We are working on an idea to make something in memory of Athena, who made this community possible. We are thinking shirts, bag or tumblers. Our goal is to sell for a small fee and the profits will be donated to a local (Florida) golden rescue on her behalf. This is an idea in the works but I wanted to see if this is of interest to anyone.

Late last night we came to the difficult decision to say goodbye to our sweet baby girl, Athena. She was the beginning of the legendary family and the mother to 40 puppies. A little over 3 weeks ago she started to slow down eating and began passing on treats which is unusual. She layed in bed more and didn’t want to get up. We took her to the vet and we discovered small bumps along her spine and side along with an enlarged v***a. On February 22nd they started her on new antibiotics and prednisone. This helped increase her appetite but all other symptoms began to worsen daily. After several Vet opinions they concluded she most likely had an extremely rare cancer. Her condition worsened so fast we had little time to do any further testing. She was tired and tried to fight as long as she could for us but we wanted her at peace and pain free. Doctors believe this is not genetic but unfortunately 1 in 4 dogs get cancer. It breaks our hearts to share the this loss with you all.

Almost 6 years ago we decided to expand our family with another golden. After a few days of searching we were able to locate the perfect puppy. Meeting you at 2 days old and finding an instant connection made it seem like destiny. After a long 8 weeks we were able to bring you home and introduce you to the rest of our loving family. There was an instant connection between you and Perseus and he loved you from that moment on. We have had many experiences along the way which have been full of joy and excitement. You have given us so many wonderful gifts and moments in our lives that we will cherish for a lifetime.
Life is not fair and time is never on anyone’s side. 6 years was just not enough time with you. We are gonna miss your side eye looks at us, you laying in front of the bathroom vanity while we get ready, you stealing the fan at night at my foot of the bed, always relocating all the toys to the yard so you can watch us pick them up (knowing you were gonna bring them back), your billy goat and seal like impressions, and some many more great qualities about you. You made everyone feel welcome and treated everyone the same no matter what the circumstances were.
All these words I write as we struggle to tell you what you truly mean to us do not do you justice. You were by far my best friend and no one or thing will ever be able to replace you. We will cherish all of your memories you gave us for a lifetime and beyond.
