"Just before John Henry was led off the airplane that flew him to Lexington, he and his life-long groom and constant companion, groom Jose Mercado, shared a final moment together before Mercado wiped tears from his eyes as he said "good bye my friend."
He then led John Henry from the jet to a waiting truck that took the famed race horse to The Kentucky Horse Park where he stood in retirement. His groom stayed on the plane and returned to California.
This was one of the most amazing moments I witnessed in my long career between an animal and a human. Both appeared to be weeping and I'm sure John Henry knew what was happening." -Stewart Bowman

Are you looking to produce your next Sport Horse? Matanzas Inlet's Morning Works while training: (3 furlongs 35.80) (4 furlongs 46.80) (5 furlongs 1:00.20) He was posting works right along with the last Triple Crown Winner, Justify. Matanzas' last one mile race was faster than three stakes races that same season at Gulfstream Park (Including 'Hogy' who won the (1MT) Grade 3 Canadian Turf Stakes earnings of $1,339,782 during his career). Although Matanzas was squeezed out to the back of the field after the (1MT) break, he posted faster with each subsequent Point of Call -- and ultimately, passed and left behind the 'favorite' horse with the country's top Jockey.
