Quality of Life Rehab & Foster, Inc.

Quality of Life Rehab & Foster, Inc. Quality of Life began in '05, as a mother/daughter team devoted to making a difference, however small As a whole, we can do a greater good.

Quality of Life wants the community
to know that we will answer your
call to help animals. We specialize in reptiles and amphibians,
but we are here to help all within our ability. A big part of our effort is to build a network
of foster homes and animal lovers. Our mission is to rescue, rehab and release. We will transport wildlife to the proper
rehab facility, if injured or orphaned. We are

also available to the community
to assist in re-homing companion animals. Pet publicist and adoption coordinator available,
provided you are willing and able to foster the animal. We hope to soon be able to assist with the sterilization
of feral cat populations, locally.

We dropped off 5 TNR cats for their surgeries and vaccines, bright and early.

Hip Tip Hooray!
At the end of the day, today, these five will no longer be trapped in the cycle of reproduction.

*the last in the clip is not part of the colony, but it was trapped during last night's effort. It will be held as stray for a time and listed as FOUND in Ocala FL.

Butterfly came home with us, today. She was found as a stray about 2 weeks ago and never claimed. She had her spay surgery, yesterday. We picked her up, bright and early this morning. She is so nervous but that will improve as she learns to trust us.

Butterfly is about 1 year old. She is a purebred and she is fostered in Ocala FL by Quality of Life Rehab & Foster, Inc.

What do our followers do for the animals?

A case of Science Diet a/d arrived, this morning, from Chewy. It costs $85 for a case of 24 cans. This stuff is GOLD when you have a sick cat that won't eat, well. It draws into the syringe beautifully and provides essential nutrients for debilitated dogs or cats.

We made this purchase last night, using the donations in our savings. Donations sent to us by all of you!

We know that we ask a lot from our followers... and you guys ALWAYS come through (for the animals and for us). We illuminate the importance of your support, often, because we know it is easy to lose sight of the minutia of our daily grind.

We worked 22 straight hours for the rescue, yesterday. We didn't have time to ask you guys for help with an expensive case of cat food for our struggling friend, Hopscotch. What we DID have time to do was make a Chewy order. We bought the case of a/d food for Hopscotch, 10 pounds of dove seed (to get us through the next few days) and 6 doses of Nexgard Combo (that was NOT cheap). Ya'll didn't even know we needed those things but it was YA'LL that made it happen. We made the purchase with funds thatb you guys donated!

You guys are with us every day, every step, every case. We accomplish so much in the community because we have the support of the community we serve! We can tackle so much because we know that we have an ARMY at our back! Thank you!

ALL OF YOU!

Your donations keep our boots on the ground, our tires on the road, and the funds in our account to meet these needs! If you are able to make a donation, we are facing March overhead and a full schedule of veterinary appointments between now and forever! Thank you for your support of our important work.

Hopscotch is seeing Dr Craft, today. He just had a blood draw and he is being such a GOOD boy. He had a glucose spot test, just now, and he is NOT diabetic! Yay!

Despite being on subQ LRS for the past 4 days, Hopscotch is still very dehydrated. For this reason, they elected to run initial bloodwork "in-house" (IDEX wants maybe more blood than Hopscotch can spare, right now). His physical exam seemed unremarkable besides slightly small kidneys and raging stomatitis. He has a colon full of poops but he started passing stool just this morning, so hopefully the fluids are starting to get his body back online.

We are waiting for the bloodwork results and Hoppie just ate a little bit of food (not a bad sign after having a blood draw). Dr Craft tells us that they DO provide dental extractions at Access Veterinary Care! Hallelujah! We will be their best/worst clients, in no time!

Please consider making a donation to help us cover today's bill. We also have 4 cats in for spay and neuter at Sheltering Hands today, so it's an expensive day! Every donation and every share help our work!! We couldn't do this without our followers, friends and supporters! The animals are blessed to have such an amazing village behind them!!

Before and After! 2 weeks difference. Same 2 pound kitten. Thank you foster mom, Rose. Fostering saves lives.

This baby has been named Nugget and she started her boosters last week. Though she weighs just 2 pounds, the vet estimated her to be about 6 months old!!
Wow!

When your rescue partner tells you "Don't look at the one with the smushed face"...

And, of course, you DO look...

And THIS is what you see.

Long story; short:
Scrunchie did not have to go through TNR. She was taken in by QoL and has, since, been spayed, chipped and all vaccines! She is in a loving foster home and is available to adopt. Located in Ocala FL.

We had the two friendliest cats on PLANET EARTH in to be fixed in Friday. New face, Scrunchie and our favorite scabies survivor, Trooper! As you can see, these two are only interested in one thing:

Love.

Both are fully vetted and available in Ocala FL to adopt.

Hopscotch is scheduled to see Dr Craft Monday at 1pm. He has been losing weight and feeling really under the weather. He saw Dr Myrick on Feb. 11 and had his vaccines updated. She said he has stomatitis and recommended that he have a dental (we will be asking Dr Craft if his office offers that service). The true nature of our visit, tomorrow, will be to eke out why Hopscotch is struggling to thrive. Bloodwork will be the first thing we imagine he will need.

Hopscotch is one of our long timers. He has been in our care for 6 years and was part of the case. He is usually a playful and spirited cat but he is not himself the last few days. He is being given subQ fluids each day and handfed the yummiest soft foods we have. He is eating with encouragement but not drinking. He has an unsteady gate and has no energy. He is dehydrated but we are working on that.

For those new to our page: this picture is going to urk some of you because of his crusty eyes. Yes, we are cleaning his face regularly. No, we aren't going to clean his face before every photo. He is sick. He wakes up with eyeboogers so many times a day that THIS is his natural state, right now. It bugs us, too, when he has eyeboogies... but it's also reality. We cannot be tasked with always showing the animals in their prime condition. We cannot be true to our work if we would spit shine a sick cat before sharing his photo. He is sick. He needs his village.

Hopscotch was receiving fluid therapy when we snapped this photo and if you've ever administered fluids, you know that eye boogers take a back seat when that's about to happen. The last thing you want to do is fuss over his face if you want him to sit still for a 150ml of subQ fluids.

Please join us in sending Hoppie love and light. He needs comfort and healing energy! Thank you so much, everyone!! Your love for these animals is always palpable!! Thank you ALL!

Ownership of an animal should not become the priority over the animal's wellbeing. NEVER keep an animal that you cannot care for simply because you "want" it. We are still sickened to think about Floof's fate. A careless end to a brave boy's life...

Look at the good work being done by our friends at HSLC!

These 2 cats were part of a case we worked in January. Five boys needed rescue and we were able to save them because HSLC had our back (it is noteworthy that Sheltering Hands, Inc. ALSO had our back and worked them in for neuter in record time)! Humane Society of Lake County Florida took 4 of the boys for their adoption program and these two went together!! Happy endings keep our spirits high and OH HOW WE TREASURE OUR RESCUE PARTNERS!

Trooper was our first intake of 2025. His head, ears and entire face was encrusted with scabies mite. Today, he is fully healed and has a lush thick coat! It is like night and day!

He is the friendliest cat we think we have ever met. He is being neutered and microchipped today. He will get the last of his vaccines and he is ready to roll! Whoever adopts this amazing cat is going to really be pleased with his loving personality!

He also graduated from medical hold and is seeking a foster home until he is adopted! Please connect with us if you can gost this love sponge for a few weeks.

Remember this? We took in 41 guinea pigs in October. They had 12 babies and we now have 53 guinea pigs. They are doing amazing!! All still need placement or transfer! We need to get the ball rolling on finding them homes. This memory cropped up, this morning, and it is hard to imagine how sickly they were. They are now THRIVING and needing forever homes! Contact us by text at 352-843-6858 if you can provide a loving home.
