Just like humans, pets are prone to painful ailments such as osteoarthritis. Pets are great at hiding pain, so it's easy to miss the signs until it gets severe.

Keep an eye out for symptoms like limping, stiffness, or hesitancy to jump or climb stairs. Chronic pain is not just physical but can affect our pets emotionally as well.

OA pain can be managed with safe, effective treatments to improve their quality of life! If you think your pet might be in pain, contact us. Together we can help them feel better.

Does your pet have a beautiful face like our friend here? Keep reading (and drop a photo in the comments)!

Deep wrinkles often trap moisture causing yeast to thrive. If left untreated, their skin can get inflamed and infected. This is called skin fold dermatitis.
Symptoms may include redness and inflammation, itching, odor, skin discoloration, and skin lesions.

Regularly cleaning and drying their folds with vet-approved cleanser can go a long way! Our team can discuss more options to help your squishy-faced friend remain looking and feeling beautiful! Give us a call.

Is your dog up to date on their Leptospirosis vaccine? Give us a call if you’d like to check your pet’s status or if you’d like to talk more about the vaccine.

🚨 Important Update: Leptospirosis Now a Core Vaccine for ALL Dogs
The 2022 AAHA Canine Vaccination Guidelines have been updated to classify the leptospirosis vaccine as CORE for all dogs starting at 12 weeks of age – regardless of lifestyle, location, or breed.
Why the change?
🌆 ALL dogs are at risk—urban, suburban, and rural.
⚠️ Potentially fatal, even with treatment.
🔄 Zoonotic—it can spread from pets to humans.
🏢 Dogs in daycare and kennels also face exposure risks.
You can find the full update in the Nov/Dec issue of JAAHA, or check out the full 2022 Canine Vaccination Guidelines here: aaha.org/canine-vaccinations

October celebrations! 🥳🥳🥳

For birthdays, we have Kenzie (reception) & Kate G (technician)! 🥳

For anniversaries, we have 2!

Erika - 3 years! Although she is quiet, do not dismiss Erika! Her wit, her compassion for animals, and her laid back personality are just some of the many qualities we love about her.
Katie B - 1 year! Katie's bright positive attitude shines day after day, as well as her love for the patients that we see.

We love our team, and we welcome you to celebrate these lovely ladies with us!❤️

Staff Appreciation Week theme of the day: Sports day!

As we wrap up Vet Staff Appreciation Week, we are humbled. We are truly grateful for our amazing staff who keep everyone afloat. Through literal blood, sweat, and tears (from us too!), we all work together to make sure our patients have the absolute best care that there is. Without each and every team member, in every department, none of this would be possible.

Your receptionist becomes your therapist, listening to and empathizing with your woes with your pet. They're the first people you see when you walk in, and they'll most likely remember you and your pet(s) by name! You can guarantee you'll get a smile, your pet will get some belly rubs if they would like, and you'll get some entertainment from these lively ladies while you wait for your exam room!

Your technicians and assistants triage your pet, obtaining history and creating a timeline of events in order to treat your pet best. They cuddle your pet as they draw their blood. They reassure your pet (and you!) that everything will be okay. They are quite literally the doctor's right hand (wo)man! They use their knowledge to streamline your pet's care and makes sure that you have all the tools you need to get your baby back to themselves!

Your kennel technicians take care of your pets while you're out of town - they give you piece of mind knowing that your pet is in safe, loving hands while you are not home. They take care of your babies day in and day out, often bringing them around to get extra lovings so they aren't so scared.

Your doctors tirelessly work to make sure that your pets are at their best. They often have to think outside of the box and come up with creative solutions. They use their extensive knowledge and experience to come up with a game plan and make it happen! They allow us to over book them so that no pet goes un-helped.
At the end of the day, our doctors graciously treat not only our animals, but the people who love them!
“Personally, I have always felt that the best doctor in the world is the Veterinarian. He can't ask his patients what is the matter...he's just got to know.”
― Will Rogers

Your hospital manager orders inventory to ensure that your pet has all the food and medications they need, she commits her time here AND at home to making sure that we are running smoothly, she makes sure that she hires exceptional staff for you to get to know and adore as much as we do, she advocates for our staff, our clients, and their pets. She is the absolute heart of this hospital, and we are truly lucky to have her.

Our staff selflessly puts their all in to each and every single day, and we could not be more proud of them. New puppies/kittens, established pets, senior pets, end of life care... our team puts their heart into each one as if they're the only patient their seeing that day. Often times, they're here well before we open and WELL after we close. They often have to miss a portion or all of their lunch to help with patient flow. Their sacrifices do not go unnoticed.

Please feel free to leave any kind words for our staff to read. We truly would be nowhere without any of them!
Thank you all for all that you do, Town & Country staff.

“Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life forever.”– Amy Poehler
