I have received a couple of inquiries in the last few days telling me they’ve never seen Jack Russell puppies at the price we have them for. (Which is the price all reputable breeders who do things the right way charge). One person said they saw them for $500 and another had a friend get one in a “special color” for $900. For one, if you buy a Russell Terrier in a “special color” (such as a merle) it is not a purebred as Jack Russell Terriers do not come in merle unless there is another breed mixed in. AKC nor EJRTCA will recognize them as a Russell Terriers. Period. Not saying they aren’t good dogs, but they aren’t purebred. Secondly, those $500 ads are scammers waiting to take your money and I promise you there is no puppy. I’ve heard it time and time again from puppy customers. They send in the money and the person vanishes. We health test all of our adult dogs, they live in a newly remodeled dog barn that is nicer than my home (let’s not even talk about the thousands we are currently spending to upgrade everything in it), and we spend THOUSANDS a year on vet bills, licensing and quality care/dog food so we can help send home a healthy, happy puppy with its new family. We are inspected yearly by the AKC, who on their most recent inspection told me that we have one of the best kennels in the state of FL.

It frustrates good breeders when they get the emails that say “you’re too expensive because I saw an ad for $500”. We spend a ton of money and work around the clock to be the best we can be at this. I don’t normally rant, but the bottom line is you get what you pay for. So buyer beware. Never buy a puppy that hasn’t been vaccinated, had family health testing, and hasn’t been issued a health certificate to show vaccinations and a thorough health inspection from a vet. That’s FL law by the way, a breeder cannot sell a dog without a health certificate which cost breeders a lot of money, but that’s okay because we WANT to do things the right way. We usually have a waiting list, anyone will tell you that, so for us to have any puppies still looking for families is very rare. If you can’t afford one of our puppies or if you just don’t want to pay that, then that’s totally fine! But PLEASE don’t email me to scold me about it. For those wanting to voice their opinion on the Marion County Limitations on how many dogs and cats you may own no matter where in the county you live or how many acres you may have, here is an article from AKC that has all of the County Commissioners email addresses. Please send each of them an email. They are trying to sneak this by and we must stop it. Also mark your calendars, the public meeting will be on March 5th at 5:30pm at the McPherson Governmental Campus Auditorium at 601 SE 25th Ave Ocala, FL. Please be there and bring all of your friends to let our commissioners know we will not have the government telling us what we can do with our land and farms!

Ruby still has 4 gorgeous male Jack Russell Terrier puppies without deposits! Here are 3 of them and I’ll get pictures of the other 2 in her litter. We do have one deposit and I’m waiting for their choice to be made so one will end up being chosen, but I wanted to show them off! Look for more photos and a video later today! They are AKC and will be ready after February 28th. Her last litter was a mix of smooth and broken coats. PM for more info!
Ruby is the daughter of two of my favorite Jacks, Annie and Smarty. The dad of this group is Seabiscuit so they are a mix of our very best!
