After 6 separate expeditions to the rural trailer and gas station where nearly a dozen cats and kittens were abandoned, we finally caught the last one! She is a gorgeous lynx point, and the only Siamese of the bunch. We were not sure if she was feral or friendly, but upon returning home, we discovered she is friendly! We have managed to trap 8 cats and kittens so far that have been dumped and abandoned at this rural gas station. Tonight, while we were hoping to catch the last couple kitties, this adorable little possum went into our trap to enjoy some tasty rotisserie chicken. We quickly released him and he hustled back into the woods! 🐾❤️🌴🦩

On our quest to catch the 2 remaining abandoned sibling kittens, we were told they had been spotted at a nearby country gas station. There were several gorgeous, friendly cats that had also been dumped there and were being fed by a nice old cat lady. We spotted the kittens in the woods, but they were too scared to get close to us. So we set our trap, but the beautiful calico and the orange male both decided to get trapped instead. They are both friendly and healthy and will be up for adoption soon! The 2 Russian Blue boys are super friendly and we will get them neutered soon. If you are interested in any of these sweet abandoned kitties let us know! 🐾❤️🌴🦩🦃

Remember Patches? The kitten with the broken jaw? His owners contacted us to say they had moved and left behind Patches’ brothers and sisters. 😿 So today we drove out to their abandoned trailer house in rural Marion County to try to catch these sweet kittens before they starve to death, get hit by cars, or killed by coyotes. Stay tuned. We still owe $400 more for Patches’ jaw surgery and if you can donate to help us with these ones as well, we would be grateful! Titan is a playful, outgoing tabby kitten who we rescued from a high kill shelter in Tampa. He arrived at the shelter sick and with scabies and was at high risk of being put down. They thought he was a girl and named him Elektra. We rescued him and immediately got him treated for his scabies and sniffles and look at him now! He is as good as new! He is affectionate, loves other cats, and is litter box trained. He will make a great addition to almost any home! *PLEASE HELP!* We just finished up our vet visit with sweet Patches. We were able to meet with our awesome vet and surgeon, and they are going to do everything they can to save Patches and get him on the road to healing. We have an estimate of $1,000 for his treatment and surgery, which is thanks to a big discount from our vet who understands we are a nonprofit rescue with limited means. Without this discount, the cost could easily be double. He is getting hospitalized, will have IV fluids, IV antibiotics, pain injections, blood tests, X-rays, and then surgery.
