Our trip to pick up Cooper and Roxie yesterday from UF Veterinary Hospital in Gainesville Florida, after their cataract surgeries. This version includes Cooper seeing his dad, Bryan for the first time in 3 days and after his surgery to be able to see! Roxie is mostly groggy but she wags her tail to let me know she’s happy to be back with me here at Perpetual Care.

Roxie and Cooper made it through their cataract surgeries yesterday and we were able to pick them up today. Roxie’s cataracts were too malformed and although they manage to remove them, they were not able to insert replacement fake lenses. Cooper was able to get a fake lens in just one eye. Still, they both should be able to see better, they will just be farsighted.
Thank you to everyone for your thoughts and prayers and a special thank you to our donors who made this possible.
Lee is home and so is Majesty!
UPDATE 10/15/24: Lee was discharged from the hospital yesterday and he is back home! We took Jes back to him last night. Look for our homecoming video….Lee Britt, the owner of Majesty (Jes) has been admitted to the hospital and is diagnosed with pneumonia. We have his 12 year old Catahoula mix dog here at Perpetual Care. We would appreciate your well wishes and prayers for Lee. #perpetualcare
We need a name for this cute boy!! He just arrived at Perpetual Care. His owner has cancer and can no longer care for him. He is 9 years old and a bit scared right now. He doesn’t understand what’s going on so he has his own space with his own yard for now. He’s afraid to come out of his crate, but he will adjust when he is comfortable. His owner called him “Poopy” but he does not respond to it and it’s not a very dignified name so we will give him a new name. Please help by giving us suggestions for a name for this cute guy!! ❤️
We have had a fun visit with Buster today especially since the hurricane was not a direct hit here, just some rain and strong winds. Buster got to meet our newest arrival, Herbie the German Shepherd. Buster took a real liking to Herbie, and Herbie is afraid of him! 🤣🤣 Still they both got a few good sniffs in today. 🤣
It's the end of the first day of Give4Marion Days so we want to update everyone on how Perpetual Care is doing. We are very grateful to have raised $1,850 so far and we Thank You if you donated to help orphaned pets whose owner has passed away and provide for much needed veterinary care. However, we do have a commitment from the Arnett Family Legacy Fund, to match our donations up to $10,000 so as you can see we are far short of that goal and it's just a shame to miss out on so much matching funds. If you would like to help us get matching funds and double your donation, we still have from now through tomorrow, September 18th up until 7 pm to get those matching funds. Please Help!

Cooper is at UF Veterinary Hospital in Gainesville to find out if he is a good candidate for cataract surgery. He is currently blind. He is only 6 years old and loves to play catch with a ball so we hope to give him the chance to see and play catch again. Estimated cost of his care is $5,000. We appreciate your good thoughts and prayers for Cooper! www.perpetualcare.org

Herbie The Love Bug is looking for a new home! He is a 10 year old German Shepherd. He is very smart and obedient. Herbie is also very affectionate. Herbie’s owner went into the hospital and got admitted to a nursing facility. Herbie was in bad shape when we took him in a few months ago and had not had any vet care for at least 2-3 years. He had a bad case of mange but after medication and skin supplements his coat is just beautiful. He is a really sweet boy. If interested in adopting Herbie, visit our website at www.perpetualcare.org.
Please share Herbie’s post to help him find a new home.

PS: Tobias is one of our residents and greatest supporters!! ❤️
His Last Wish Was Fulfilled. When Owen had to give up his beloved dog, Baby Girl because he went into assisted living and could no longer care for her, he called Perpetual Care for help.
We took in Baby Girl who is a 13 year old blind Chihuahua who also has a form of COPD. She lived here at the Perpetual Care Life Care Center for pets while getting to visit Owen. This was her last visit with Owen on August 14th. He passed away on Wednesday, August 28th. It was his final wish to see his Baby Girl again so he passed peacefully once his wish was fulfilled.
Baby Girl will continue to live safe and happy at Perpetual Care until her time comes to cross the rainbow bridge to meet up with Owen.
This is our mission and our joy at Perpetual Care, that pets will not suffer when orphaned by the loss of their owners and that pet owners have peace of mind knowing their pets will be safe and loved.
Please, have a plan for your pets in case of an emergency or illness and if you have no one to care for your pets, contact us at Perpetual Care to make a plan. www.perpetualcare.org.
