I finally tried this portable bathtub to bathe my show cats when traveling. Fits easily in a regular bath tub. Tried at home first! I’m in LOVE!! Plenty of room for most cats, probably even a Maine C**n. The cat I tested on is a 13 pound male Selkirk Rex and he didn’t gill even half of it. I did clip him in with a harness as he likes being “busy”. He even jumped out once and it didn’t tip over. Granted I was right there. Folded it will easily fit in a Sturdi Show Shelter case with your cage.

So proud of Delilah! After the 2023/24 TICA show season she is now LA BW SGC Wavemakers I Want It All. (And she has gotten it all!) Last year she earned her Lifetine Achievement (LA) which requires at least 2 Regional and 1 International top 25 wins. She did it with 2 International and 3 Regional wins. She’s such a special girl!

Hello Selkirk Rex breeders. I’m Gale Perry of Wavemakers Selkirk Rex Cats. I began showing in TICA in 2014 after I retired. I soon discovered the amazing Selkirk Rex and purchased my first in 2015. I actively show, primarily in the SE Region but several times a year I can be found traveling around the US, England and Europe.

As a breeder I feel strongly that the breed should be bred to our standard, not as a “Curly Brit or Persian” and that having healthy genetic diversity is a must. I began breeding in 2016 and have produced multiple RW and 2 IW winners. I’m also founder and President of Sunshine & Magic Cat Club, and will holding our second show in December.

As a current Breed Committee member I have worked with Sarah Louise Walker and Kitti Marshall Ruttan for the past term on multiple projects, including: Updating the Breed Seminar for use in judging training & to be posted on the TICA breed page. Conducting judges breed training seminars. Working to find a way to correct registrations & pedigrees to reflect Selkirk Straights, which has been a multi-step process to get the correct people to understand and guide us through the process.

We’ve been working with TICA Genetics, Standards and Rules Committees to find a way to correct our Selkirk Rex pedigrees and registrations so they accurately reflect the Straight Selkirks we register. Currently, when we register a straight kitten and select “Non-Standard” (as it doesn’t have curl) it has not been reflected on either their registration or pedigree. There has been no way to track the value of Straight Selkirks to our breed In fact, technically, in TICA, they dont exist. Other registries reflect this information on registrations and pedigree. This fix sounds simple but it’s not and there have been many discussions with the various committees on the best way to accomplish this.

One on the first steps they have recommended is to update the breed standard to current standard guidelines and verbiage. The Breed Committee has been working with both the Standards and Rules Committees on this process.

Hopefully, the Breed Committee will soon have information on both how TICA wants to track Selkirk Straights and possible Standard updates for the Breed Group.

I encourage everyone to vote and would like to continue serving you on the Breed Committee.

From Chicago we traveled to Tacoma, Washington for the TICA Annual show and awards banquet. A fun time visiting with Sarah, Diana and so many others. Thank you to the judges that found Delilah worthy of a place in their final. With 89 cats competing I’m so proud of her!
