We are not currently taking new customers but if you are a previous or current customer, you can text Julie with pet sitting needs or questions. All is ok for those concerned, just have some life changes happening and trying to figure out how to best continue with our business.

It has been awhile since I posted! We survived the very difficult year 2023 and are still here. We have tightened up our service area and are open for new pet customers on the west side of Marion County. We service Calesa Township, Stone Creek, Ocala Preserve, Rolling HIlls of Ocala, Juliette Falls and all of the non-neighborhood neighborhoods in the same area.

1st Rate Pet Services has been in business since May 1, 2012 and provides in your home care for your pets for 1x/day potty breaks while you are at work to vacation multiple visits a day as needed. I also provide overnight care on a limited basis.

There have been changes going on for 1st Rate Pet Services this year. Starting August 2023, I (Julie) will be working full time, so we now serve a much smaller area. We are also being selective as to the types of visits we are taking on due to a number of reasons. The general service area is within the circled area below.

Feel free to contact us and if we aren't a good fit for you, that's ok. We are blessed to network with an amazing group of pet sitters so if you contact us and are out of our service area, we will happily refer you to someone else we know, like and trust.

Blessings to you all this holiday season.

Here we are at the time of year that makes so many people feel EXTRA lonely and sad. The media and society hypes everything up to a level that makes anything less than the ideal family gathering seem lame and sad. Please forget all of those expectations and just take a moment to reflect on what you have to be grateful for, and you have more than you think you do....

Years ago I shook off the "norm" of what the holiday season is portrayed as being, and it has given me so much peace and relief to not feel obligated to do all the holiday things. I just treat the specific day as any other day, (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's eve, etc) and am none the worse for it.

So if you are a holiday "orphan" or "empty nester" feeling sad, please take this year to redefine what the holidays mean to you. If you feel still like you want to observe the day as a special one, come up with some new traditions that work with your current situation instead of pining away for what you used to do.

If I'm not busy with pet sitting, I love to just stay home and read a book, all by myself. A nap is also almost always on the menu as well!

This looks familiar when I do overnight pet visits!!!! I love pet customer cuddles and don't mind having 1 foot of bed while the pups have the rest.

This is me every time I do an overnight visit! No matter how big the bed, I end up with very little of it due to cuddly, bed hogging dogs!!! (I don't mind though, I LOVE overnight visits with cuddly dogs!)

The pet customers ALWAYS tell us they are allowed as many treats as they want. We gently tell them "mommy and/or daddy said no."

These guys are so much fun to pet sit for!!! 1st picture… ’hey let’s do something fun’ 2nd picture…’omg omg, there’s a dog on tv!!!!’ 3rd picture after playing ball they finally chill for about half an hour before starting all over again.
