Grab your tissues, it's time for Maggie's story.
Maggie was a young pup when she first came to MCAS. She found a wonderful home with people that loved and cared for her. She had a little brother, a dachshund named Jack. Maggie had the life we all hope for all of the shelter orphans.
Then it was all gone. Her human mom passed away and Maggie and Jack were brought to a loud, scary place surrounded by strangers. None of the relatives could keep them, but said they were good dogs.
At least Maggie had Jack. They comforted each other and were always snuggled side by side. Then, Jack was gone too. A foster home had just enough room for little Jack, but not enough room for much larger Maggie.
Maggie is a very good girl that is so, so sad. She doesn't know any of the dogs in playgroup, but cruises around without any trouble. She paces in the yard- she doesn't know any of these humans either. As soon as someone takes her leash, she leans in, desperate for reassurance.
Our hearts ache for Maggie and we are hoping that someone has room in their home for this quiet and polite girl.

Asiago is a neutered male, about 4 years old and 37 pounds.
Personality: Asiago loves to play fetch and sit in the pool. He listens well to being called and takes a correction wonderfully. He is crate trained and potty trained, he likes dogs but prefers to play with people he likes.
Breed: Dutch Shepherd, so he loves puzzles and games to keep him happy.
Looking for: Asiago is looking for a home where someone will be patient to work with him as he over comes stranger danger. A patient and loving experienced handler who can give him all the encouragement and enrichment he needs to be a happy healthy dog.
He is an extremely loyal dog who will love and protect you. He has LOTS of love to give and needs someone he can trust and rely on.

The dogs love this yard. Mud, bushes, lots of space and room to play!
Buddy (hound) and his fur siblings are living on a farm together enjoying life! The real celebration here is buddy came to us in really rough shape, and he is geriatric. Senior dogs can he hard to adopt but his momma saw something in him and took him home 🥹 now he has so much space to roam and a fur sibling!
