Hey Everyone! We hope your summer is going splendidly! We’ll be meeting for our next Pack Walk on Saturday, August 31st at 9:00am at Heron Park In Berlin! This is across from Burley Oak and right beside Burn Wood Fired Pizza! This is open to the public and free to attend! IF you’ll be attending for your first time and you have a Dog with reactivity issues please don’t hesitate to let us know ahead of time and we can help make arrangements to ensure you have a safe experience. Remember to bring your own water and waste bags. Sunscreen doesn’t hurt either! Also bug spray if you’d like! We’ll see you there!

Last week we were lucky enough to attend an incredible seminar at in Arkansas! Not only was the seminar lead by the fascinating Dr. Stuart Hilliard and our good buddy who was not wrong in imploring us to hear what that man had to say! Not only did these two insightful and inspiring Canine professionals impart a wealth of knowledge upon us. We also got an opportunity to hear about the opinions and experiences of a number of great trainers from around the country! We’re so glad we got an opportunity to meet all of them! No better way to she spend our downtime! Always keep learning!

Pack Walks are back! Saturday, March 30th at 9am! 26th St. On the Boardwalk! Remember to bring waste bags and water or treats if your Dog needs them! It can be a little chilly on the Boardwalk so it’s always wise to bring extra layers for you and your Dog if that will make either of you more comfortable! We’re excited to get back to it! Spread the word!

Why choose our 2 Week, On Leash Stay and Train Program? Before your Dog comes to stay with us to be trained in behavioral obedience. We first schedule 2 Days of Day Training for your Dog to attend. This is LIKE Day Care but the entire day is focused on training and structure. After those 2 Days of Day Training are complete we have you in to attend a private 1 on 1 appointment to catch up on all the material your Dog has learned thus far. It also helps us to prepare you and your Dog for their 2 week stay. Only after we’ve completed this does your Dog come in and stay with us and our trainers for a full 2 weeks to study behavioral obedience and focus on how to be an excellent Dog On Leash in addition to learning other new and useful behaviors! At the end of this 2 week period we have you in again for a 2 - 3 hour private lesson to learn everything you’ll need to know in order to maintain your Dogs new training at home. Then even after we’ve accomplished all of these things together, we schedule you for another appointment a few weeks after your Dog has been home. We do this so we can check in with you about how the training has been going and offer help to clarify or improve anything you may still be having questions about. Spending longer periods of time with our students always makes for an outstanding outcome! Why choose our 4 week Board & Train Program? Sometimes our Dogs develop unhealthy relationships with their home environment. Taking them out of that environment can be vital in restructuring their association with their routine at home. It’s far from a quick fix though. When you sign up for our 4 Week Board and Train program, this includes 3 Days of Day Training as well. We schedule this to come before the Boarding Portion of the training so that your Dog is familiar with us and our environment. We also schedule a One on One appointment that coincides with this cluster of Day Training. This will help to teach you some fundamentals and prepare you for the Board & Train. During their 4 week stay you’ll be joining us here at the 2 week mark for another appointment further expanding on the information you’ll be needing to put this training to use once your Dog comes home. Then at last, at the 4 week mark you’ll be joining us for a 2-3 hour appointment reviewing all of the information regarding your dogs training AND how to use their new e-collar! This is the ONLY program through which we introduce e-collars. The price of the program not only includes the introduction but also the equipment itself. Remember to be weary of anyone who’s willing to attempt to introduce your dog to an e-collar in 2 weeks. This is complex equipment and taking the correct approach ensures that your Dog will have a good relationship with this device! Happy Holidays! We’d like to cordially invite you to our Holiday Family Portrait Event! Sunday, December 10th at 2:00pm! This will take place at our facility located at 9748 Stephen Decatur Hwy, Unit 209, Ocean City, MD, 21842. The cost is $25 per family and ALL proceeds will be going straight to the Worcester County Humane Society! Additionally some local businesses will have some fun items to raffle off! It’s guaranteed to be a great Sunday afternoon! So come on out and help us to support your local Animal Shelter! Fun Holiday sweaters are encouraged!

Unbeknownst to us the Ocean City Running festival will occur at the inlet tomorrow morning. Whilst we won’t allow this to prevent the pack walk from happening we are moving the starting location to 26th Street and the Boardwalk. This way you’ll have an easier time finding parking! We’ll see you there.

Our next Pack Walk will be Saturday, October 28th at 9:00am. We’ll be meeting up at 813 S. Atlantic Ave, Ocean City, MD, 21842 (The southern-most point of the Ocean City Boardwalk. Remember to bring waste bags, treats and any equipment you need for you and your Dog to be safe and comfortable. As always this is a free event and all are welcome to attend. All we ask is that if your Dog has reactive or aggressive issues you’re working on then please contact us ahead of time so that we can accommodate you and help you plan to have a safe and productive experience. THE PACK WALK IS STILL ON. We’ve been watching the weather and discussing whether or not it would be safe but Jan at Paws and Claws has been nice enough to offer her store as an indoor spot to meet and work with out Dogs. Please if you’re attending remember to be courteous and respectful of their space at Paws and Claws. They’re terrific members of the community and we extend our thanks for their willingness to host this event! we’ll see you at 9:00am tomorrow!
