Shaded ‘Persians’ are absolutely stunning, especially Chinchillas. Unfortunately over the decades they have mixed with Himalayans and Exotics and today it is essentially impossible for find Show Standard ‘Pure’ Chinchilla Persians.

Freezing temperatures mean frost on the ground. Let's look at some of our breeds that come with "frosting."

Many breeds have the chinchilla and shaded pattern, in which the color is on the very tips of each hair, and the rest of the hair shaft is white. Probably the most recognizable example of this pattern is the shaded Persian shown here. The chinchilla pattern has even less color on the ends, giving it a sparkling appearance.
