Aloha is 11.5 years old now. This picture was taken recently and I just love it. Her sweet smile gets me. 🥰
Aloha was diagnosed with Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) a year ago this month so I’ve had to adjust her daily activities.
Her favorite activity is a sniffari. We go on a walk and we go at her pace. She can sniff all that her heart desires without any rush from me. This is great for her mind and body. It also helps me slow down from the hustle and bustle of my daily life.
She also loves her dinner frozen in a Kong. I put her kibble and dog friendly broth in a classic Kong and freeze it. It can take her 30-45 minutes to eat which helps give her some mental stimulation while resting her body.
Another fun activity that she enjoys is swimming. I don’t toss the ball as far or as many times as when she was younger but a few short tosses helps her get some low impact exercise.
