Saturdays are always extra busy around the Ranch and this amazing group, the Poway Awesome Ladies Book Club, took on the task of painting the fence around our track in the midst of lessons. Our riders enjoyed saying hello as they rode past and we appreciate the hard work that goes into keeping our sensory track looking so great! Thank you! πŸ’šπŸ΄

πŸŽ‰ CONGRATULATIONS to Irene Diggs, our 2024 Volunteer of the Year! πŸŽ‰

Please join us in congratulating Irene Diggs on being selected as the Volunteer of the Year for 2024 at Ivey Ranch. Irene has been an amazing and steadfast volunteer since 2018. She works with the horses, our learning and counseling programs, engages in outreach and fundraising, writes grants, and volunteers as a Board member. Irene always has a beautiful smile on her face and she is an ideal representative of Ivey Ranch Park.

Irene was recognized on Friday, November 1, at the North County Philanthropy Council’s Volunteer of the Year celebration. Stay tuned for an on-site celebration in January! πŸ΄πŸ’š

Hey, Abe here to share some important info as we leave October behind and start enjoying some cooler weather, all kinds of holiday celebrations, and a time change.

🐴 Therapy lessons are back on the schedule starting this Saturday, November 2, and we will be needing our trusty leaders to assist with lessons and volunteers to help with chores. All available shifts for the upcoming month are now available in SignUpGenius. If you have been thinking about becoming a Lesson Aide, we will gladly show you the reins and have you shadow another more seasoned volunteer to understand the job. Please feel free to speak to any of our staff members in red shirts at the ranch and we will gladly help you.

🀠 Intrigued by my handsome face and want to get involved? Volunteer Orientation happens this weekend for individuals aged 9 years and up only! Be sure to fill out your application online and arrive onsite by 1PM in pants and closed-toed shoes or boots. This is our last orientation opportunity until January 2025.

🌚 Also – and I speak on behalf of the entire herd with this announcement - Barn Buddies will be shifting half an hour earlier due to the time change on November 3. That means mucking and feeding (this particular item is of the utmost importance!) will start at 4PM through the winter and into early spring. 🌞

See you soon!

πŸ‘» We are gearing up for a spook-tacular day tomorrow! πŸ‘»

🐎THR is on break until November 2 but Saturdays continue to be busy and we welcome lesson aides to assist our riders from 8am-12pm. πŸ§›β€β™€οΈ

🐴Barn Buddies: because of Trunk or Treat, we will be starting at 4pm so that we are done by 5:30pm with chores and feeding. Plan to stay and enjoy the event! πŸ‘‘

🍭Trunk or Treat starts at 4:30pm so if you are joining us with a trunk, we will be closing off our parking lot at 3pm for set up. We would like everyone to be on site by 4pm so that we are ready for the fun! πŸ•·

πŸ›‘Please plan to park or drop off and pick up anywhere but in the Canine Companions parking lot after 3pm. Access to the community gardens will not be available during this event. πŸ•Έ

It's been a busy week of preparing for our 14th Annual Hoedown this Saturday and we want to thank for letting us share more about our mission at Ivey Ranch Park. Executive Director Tonya Danielly had an opportunity to sit down with hosts Maria Arcega-Dunn and Andrew Luria to talk about how important this fundraiser is to supporting our care and equestrian programs and the impact we have on our local community.πŸ΄πŸ’š

Sponsoring a horse is a commitment of $2500 a year (or co-sponsor for $1250), which supports feed, vet care, supplies, and farrier treatment. This means that we can focus on providing tack, equipment, instructors, plus maintenance and upgrades to our facility because our supporting and generous community is taking care of their basic needs.

We have 28 horses that can benefit from this amazing gift. And sometimes it just takes a while for the right sponsor to come along….and that’s what has happened to our Ambassador, Teddy! 🐎

We are so thrilled to announce that while he had to wait 14 years to find his special sponsors, the Kerzic Family recognized that everyone at the Ranch is loved and included and are going to take care of this fuzzy guy! Bonus is that one of his new favorite humans is also a Teddy! This sponsorship was meant to be – THANK YOU! ❀️

Besides the knowledge that your sponsorship supports a herd member and helps us meet other needs in our equestrian programming, it also means getting to take professional photos with the newest member of your extended family. We enjoyed watching Teddy get set up for the shot with his. They even spoiled him with carrots back at the Hideout! πŸ₯•πŸ’š

Interested in sponsoring one of our horses? Visit the website for more information under the β€œGive” tab. Be sure to visit the β€œOur Horses & Cats” under the β€œAbout” tab to learn more and to see who is still waiting for their sponsor or co-sponsor. New photos are coming soon – including Mr. Teddy!
