In order for the staff to exercise our right and responsibility to vote, Ocoee Dogs will not be open for Daycare on Election Day - Tuesday November 5th. We will be at the polls in between tending to our boarders. Hope to see you there, thank you for your support!

We are excited to announce that we will be hosting a Labor Day weekend YARD SALE! This event is to generate funds that will help our local animal rescue organization build an animal shelter for Polk County. Our community is in desperate need of a safe place to take the innumerable amount of strays and surrendered animals in the Ocoee area. Please help us help them!

We are currently seeking donated items to sell at our event, so bring us that box of old stuff you’ve been meaning to take to the thrift store or sell on marketplace, and take pride in knowing you’re helping a great cause. Donations can be made during business hours(8-12 am or 3-6 pm)

And be sure to swing by 277 Reynolds Bridge Rd Ocoee TN, Saturday and Sunday 31st & 1st 10 am - 4 pm to get some goodies and support animals in need. You may also make cash donations without purchasing anything if you wish! 😊💕🐾

Hey guys so this is utterly horrific… these were found in Pennsylvania on the Appalachian Trail near a hiker hut. We don’t know how common or broad an issue this really is, but it is confirmed to be true.

Please please 🙏 watch your dog on trails, keep them close by and do not let them eat snack you don’t provide.

Something to consider. Every week we have people ask us if we can help them rehome a dog. As much as we love dogs and want to see each dog live its best life, there are more pets in need than there are families willing to take them in.
There are no words to encompass how much you mean to your animals. We watch them for a brief time and even the most silly playful dog has moments we can tell they miss their family and life. Don’t lose site of the fact you are their world!

If you are at wits end and they need exercise that you can’t give them, we do recommend and offer year round daycare for $110 a month. We have many guests that give testament to our services helping in their daily lives. Please give your pets every chance before you give up on them.

Time and time again, pet owners give up their pets to shelters due to feelings of inadequacy. Reasons such as working full-time, limited living space, and lifestyle guilt are often cited for surrendering their cherished companions. However, we have an important message for you: You should keep your pet.

On average, Americans work 8.49 hours per day, with some working even longer hours. Among them are students who are committed to their studies. While it would be ideal to spend all our time at home with our pets and loved ones, this scenario is uncommon. The concept of the "perfect home" is rare for most pets, but to them, your home, family, and the time you share are what truly matter. If you decide to give up a dog or cat to a shelter, it's unlikely they will find someone who can be with them more than you. They are likely to end up in a new home with a family that is away just as much as you are. You should keep your pet.

We frequently hear that pets need more room to run. While this may be accurate, your pet might also be perfectly happy with an additional 10 minutes during their walk or spending a bit more time at their favorite sniffing spot. Given the choice, they would prefer a bit less activity time over being confined in a kennel for most of the day as shelter staff work hard to find them a new home. Go for a little longer of a walk. You should keep your pet.

There are numerous ways to enhance your pet's quality of life while aligning with your lifestyle requirements. Don't overlook the benefits of enrichment activities. Engaging in puzzle toys, brain games, training, or even short 10-15 minute sessions can help keep your pet active and content. We are happy to share games and enrichment ideas to help you along. You should keep your pet.

Owning a pet is a lifelong commitment, and we understand that various circumstances can unfortunately lead to pet surrender. Animal Shelters across the country are in crisis. There are more pets than people able to adopt. While we understand the guilt of working and small spaces, please consider the alternative. A life stuck in a small kennel, limited contact with people, limited exercise, and the grief of losing the family they love so much.

You are enough. You should keep your pet.

Welcome back River Friends!
Going in to our busy season we strongly encourage all of our guests to schedule for daycare ahead of time. This will help us schedule staff appropriately to keep your dogs and our staff safe and happy.
We will continue to accept walk-ins from *8am- 10:30 am only* OR until we reach capacity.
After 10:30 you may call to ask about availability. Please keep in mind that we tend to reach our capacity very quickly during the summer and we hate for anyone to miss a day on the river. The best way to ensure a spot for your dog is to go online or give us a call to book ahead of time! Thanks and let’s have an amazing season!

Hey everyone! This is not a post to cause fear but to educate our beloved friends. We have no reports of illness. Many in the pet industry as of very recently discussing a very contagious dog virus going around the nation. The illness is not testing positive for Influenza or Bordetella and is reportedly non responsive to antibiotics. The official report I have read states they are not sure how it is transmitted. We want every owner to be safe during these holiday travels, and will be joining the nation wide fife to prevent its spread by asking all of our guest to please reframe from using any dog parks or group dog play within 2 weeks of your visit. We know this is a lot to ask, and we will continue to fully clean down our facility each day. At this time we have not seen any reported illness in the Tennessee and North Georgia area.

Come join us on October 28th and 29th for Trick or Treat for the Doggies. We will have candy too for the kiddos. Stop on in during the weekend from 8-12pm. And again from 3-6pm. We close for lunch from 12-3pm. Can’t wait to see everyone!!!
