Our Story
We have invested over 34 years of experience into this business. The president, DeAnna Greulich, started riding when she was 10 years old.
She was trained and mentored by her grandfather, Richard Bates, who was a very accomplished and famous horseman from central Minnesota. In his home town of Owatonna, he was called the Pied Piper, as he gathered all the neighborhood children and taught them how to rope and ride. They followed him all over town (better than a babysitter!)
Richard bred and showed quality Quarter Horses, which he sold and shipped all over the country. He taught DeAnna everything he knew about how to be a good rider, how to be safe, how to care for the horses and how to recognize lameness issues. DeAnna fell in love with learning how to train and making the horses better. She attended horse shows and furthered her education by keeping her horse at a boarding facility so that she could ride with other people, learn from them and take lessons.
When DeAnna moved to Wisconsin in 2001, she was excited to see a large horse community and found a quality training barn for her horses. She trained under the watchful eye of Kate Reuter, a Gran Prix rider with the Dutch stallion ‘OnLine.’ Kate was originally trained by the United States Olympic rider, Laura Kraut, and competed throughout the country, including Madison Square Garden and winning many Gran Prixs. DeAnna began winning Grand Championships in both the Hunter and the Jumper classes, winning money at some of the bigger show venues in the country.
