Thanksgiving is almost here! Keep your pets safe with these holiday hazard tips:

🦃Eliminate table scraps. While it may be tempting to let your pet indulge in the festivities, not everything on our table is fit for theirs.

🦃Take out the trash! The garbage can fill up quick with bones, chocolate and other holiday hazards. Try to empty your trash throughout the day or keep it hidden to keep curious pets from getting into trouble!

🦃Create a safe space for your pets to relax when guests arrive.
About those guests... make sure that they keep their personal belongings up and out of reach of pets but also that they are respecting your pets boundaries.

🦃Be mindful of floral arrangements. Some flowers and plants are toxic to pets. It is best to keep pets away from all plants and table decor.

Senior pets deserve all the love and care to keep their golden years shining bright!❤

Here are some tips & tricks for taking care of your senior pet:

🐾 Get your pets in for regular wellness exams. Routine visits to the vet help us keep an eye on any physical changes your pet may be experiencing.

🐾 Stay up to date on vaccines and diagnostic care. Even in their older age, vaccines are still just as important while keeping up with diagnostic care helps us monitor what the body is doing inside as they age.

🐾 Maintain an active lifestyle. This not only includes not just physical stimulation but also mental stimulation such as walking different routes and interactive toys.

🐾 Get comfy! Keeping senior pets comfortable is incredibly important. Consider providing senior pets with comfortable bedding, adding rugs to slippery floors, adding ramps/steps to elevated surfaces such as the bed or couch and even consider raising food and water bowls so they are easy to reach.

For more information on senior pet care, give us a call or check out our website!

Did you know that First-aid kits are not just for humans?

It is important to be prepared in the event of an emergency while trying to get your pet to a veterinarian.
Keeping these items on hand may come in handy when you are in a pinch.

Of course, if your pet is experiencing a medical emergency, please give our office a call or contact a local pet emergency facility.

Bringing a new dog into your home can be as exciting as Christmas morning but did you know that your home can contain some preventable hazards to your new four-legged friend?

Here are some helpful tips on how to dog-proof your house:

🐾Keep counters clear and any food items put away. Store food bags of any kind where pets cannot access them.

🐾Keep any and all cleaning products as well as other toxic items hidden.
You can even look for products marked "pet-safe" as often as possible.

🐾Be sure that electrical cords and even outlets are covered properly.

🐾While they are lovely, remove toxic plants from inside and outside of the home.

🐾Do your best to medications up high and use caution when taking medications to ensure nothing falls on the floor.
