Yes, cats need rehab too, especially after stifle surgery. Depending on the cat, they can be great in the underwater treadmill. This girl was very sweet and compliant, the perfect cat patient.

This little man had never been in the water before and did great. As he’s recovering from surgery, his person is working on weight loss, he is already down 2 pounds. Way to go!! They are real close to getting back to their walks together.

Training a normal base of support on the rear is a challenge for some dogs. Using this sensory mat with a rise in the center, we can get this happy guy placing his rear feet square under him while we work core and rear limb strengthening. He’s so happy he rarely slows down !!

Gaiting a dog in the water can involve placing their feet, using contact to facilitate muscle contraction, helping with timing and speed, or simply aiding in the hind limb positioning. The unloaded environment in the water helps with neuromuscular re-education of all of those things to improve gait outside of the water.
