HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 🎉 We hope you had a very Merry Christmas🎄, a Happy Hanukkah🕎, and a Joyous Kwanza 🎁this holiday season! We were also so excited to celebrated our 3 year market anniversary/barkaversary/dogaversary on December 18th (though we’ve been officially in business 3.5 yrs now) and we just wanted to say a great THANK YOU to all of our fabulous customers 🐾and the humans owned by them!!! We’ve learned so much and have grown incredibly over the last 3 years by listening to our customers to meet their needs as much as possible by introducing treats made to enhance your pup’s (and kitty's) health and dietary needs. We love seeing our regulars and new pups at over 💥84💥 markets this year, discussing pet health and getting lots of drooly love!🐶 We will be taking most of January to reset, refresh and get geared up for a super fun and busy 2025!! But don’t worry, you can stock up at our store locations at Made Artisian Hall in New Port Richey, Market in the Mall in Countryside Mall, Clearwater and Westshore Mall in Tampa. Hi Pups🐾 and those owned by our favorite pups!!!! 🥰 We did not mean to ghost all of you but it's been quite hectic. We work so hard to keep up with demand that we had a dehydrator quit AND our oven died the week of Thanksgiving!😱 Unreal in this holiday season! But boy do we have a festive weekend coming up for you. We'll be in ❄️Tarpons Springs❄️, Midtown Tampa🐕 and🎅 Trinity✨ all who will be celebrating the season with very 🎄🔔 festive markets and events. The weather is perfect for the pup so get em out and let' em pick their own treat for under the tree! 🐶🐕🐱🎁💝
Don't forget, our Advent Calendars are in limited supply (pups will love ya for playing "catch up" on any days missed). Feel free to hit us up to prepay and set aside yours for pick up at one of our markets. When they're gone, they are gone! While there IS a separate K9 Veterans Day (March 13th), we didn't want to leave them out today! As many of you know, 8 Paws Approved has strong Veteran roots as the baker and treat creator (me!) is a Veteran, my beer grain supplier (my hubby) is still serving a deployment tour currently, our fathers served and my 3rd egg is active duty. We salute all of our brothers AND sisters in arms for all you've done, do and will continue to do! 🫡 And that includes the loyal pups dedicated to their commitment that serve our nation! 🇺🇸🐕‍🦺❣️🐾

Even getting caught up in the travel fiasco, we are enjoying a weekend off from the markets while visiting family❣️ But don't worry too much about missing out on your pups favorite treats. We'll be back for a full weekend of markets next weekend. In the meantime, if you're in the New Port Richey area, visit MADE Artisian Hall. Hi, folks here at 8 Paws Approved we are up to curious things resulting in new awesome ideas for your pups and kitties. One of our top priorities is to make sure that what ever we are making for your pups is highly nutritious and delicious. I spend a good amount of time attending pet summits on nutrition so that I have qualified professional advice from those who know before I create my recipes. However, I think we have made a grand mistake!! 🤯 Well, it's probably not a mistake per se, but it's certainly is a mistake for my house! As you know, I am a home based business and therefore all of the preparing, baking, and dehydrating all happens here at home. Well, today we have decided to experiment with green tripe. Now, I have made tripe treats in the past, however, it has been with a blanched cleaned tripe. While having extra calories is necessary for lactating or pregnant mamas, I feel like the nutrition value was fairly depleted in the cleaning process of the tripe I used. Therefore, I purchased a small amount of green tripe to dehydrate to see if it would be something I would add to my menu offerings going forward. NOW I understand why this is NOT a common item bakers make outside of maybe say a commercial environment.Ya know where they don't have to live! At first, just handling the tripe was a pretty stinky endeavor. And I had known from doing nutritional research that it could be a pretty smelly process dehydrating it. But for the love of puppies, the foul stomach wrenching stench is beyond nauseating! 😝🤢 It could take 24-48 hours to fully dehydrate. I'm sure the dogs think it's wonderful. I absolutely do not.😨 This could be the only time I offer this so if you happen to see me at my next few markets and there are some tripe rings or twists left, GET 'em while you can! For those of you feeding raw diets or are very knowledgeable about pet diets, you already know green tripe is super nutritious for your pet. But it is probably not going to become a regular menu item based on this experience! I'm seriously afraid to leave a house because if I do and cleanse my olfactory senses only to walk back in and have to smell this, I might not be able to finish the process. 😬😵‍💫 I have now raised the funk factor of dehydrating raw beef liver to a reasonable level of tolerance in comparison!! Oy, the things we do because we LOVE our pets!!❣️🐾

I bet most people don't even know there is a woman's veterans day. 🇺🇲 That's TODAY folks. Surprisingly, to me anyway, women veterans still get overlooked. Incredibly, it even happens at the V.A. even nobody else is with me that I get asked if I'm the veteran or if I'm supporting someone who is a veteran. How about both?! To all my sisters in arms, I see you.👀 I appreciate you.🫶 And I highly respect all those who came before us now giving us the opportunity to do so.🇺🇲

It was a hot full weekend, folks, and I just want to thank everyone who came out to support us even in some pretty steamy temperatures. 🔥🌞♨️ We love seeing all of our return customers and fun new ones in Tarpon Springs for 1st Friday, at Bexley Market on the Lawn where it was blazing hot and Harvest Market at the Grove for tolerating the heat there too. Tis the season for Backyerd BBQ's (Who am I kidding? This is Florida, it's always barbecue, season LOL) and were glad so many of you spoiled your pups with their very own fun and healthy BBQ packs!
