This month we butchered almost 200 Cornish cross meat birds and we try super hard to not have any waste here at the farm. With that in mind, we donated ALL of the chicken feet to Lone Star Sanctuary for Animals. They have over 70 dogs in their care at the moment so luckily we had enough so each of them will get a tasty healthy treat!

Yesterday we processed around 80+ Cornish Cross meat birds. This will feed our family for close to the next year. It’s so rewarding to be able to grow and process our own food here at the farm and provide for our families with only the best!
Looking forward to our class next weekend with everyone that purchased meat birds!

Quick glimpse into only part of chore time! Our little hands/little helpers are the best and we are beyond blessed to give our kids this lifestyle to grow up in. Good size comparison between two of our new mamas. On the left is Star, our Holstein cross. On the right is Patty, one of our Brown Swiss. Both mamas are doing great and getting used to coming in for treats and love while learning the ropes of milking

Talk about some liquid gold! This mamas colostrum was so thick it was chunky! Babies get all of this goodness while it lasts for about the first week and then they will move to formula so yall can get that good raw milk 🥛

Did you know chickens are carnivorous animals?They love meat! They are great for pest control too! Found a rattle snake in the barn and threw it to the chickens (after cutting the head off of course) they had a hay day with it! 😂 #chickens #snakes #pestcontrol #farmlife
