This is your annual reminder not to use laser pointers with your dogs. It makes them obsessive and compulsive about looking for and chasing any moving lights. Including reflections. And if done regularly it can actually make it so your dog has a hard time relaxing at home because they’re always looking for it.
Just don’t do it. I’ve seen the results too many times now. They shouldn’t be marketing these for dogs.

I am glad this guy is so amazing because it appears he may be the last import for a while due to the new CDC regulations. This will not stop my program but it will slow down my goals to produce quality long coat puppies. I will still do it; it will just take me longer to get there. I do hope this is challenged in the Supreme Court as I feel the CDC has over-stepped its function and importing animals is something that is and should continue to be regulated by the USDA! I will also be considering some homes in France and Canada for puppy raising services if I decide to purchase a dog and the breeder is unable to hold them until the 6 month mark.

Umeko du Turail imported from France at 15 weeks of age healthy, valuable, diserable, and a prime example of his breed in structure, health, and ability.

Irresponsible retail rescues with white knight syndrome put our country at risk, not experienced preservation breeders, working dog trainers, and sport competitors.

Outside for some kibble and goats milk so I can deep clean the whelping box. ShawShack Christmas 2023 litter - In this litter we have some future show dogs, sport dogs, herding dogs, an active family pet, and a potential working K9. We have some amazing families waiting on these puppies that have talked and discussed with us their plans and realistic expectations. We do our best to get to know our families so we can pair them to the best puppy. No final determinations are made until puppies are 8 weeks old and have structural evaluations. Personality, drive, energy, and confidence studies have been going on since the day they were born. As they continue to grow and mature in their motor skills we will be introducing them to barn hunt rats, sheep for herding, water for dock diving and swimming, and birch for nose work. They already get regular grooming and nail trims. We are working on appropriate substrate for potty areas by implementing a litter box and frequent trips outside to their safe play area when the weather allows. They see and hear other dogs, donkeys, sheep, chickens, carts, vehicles, power tools, tvs, vacuums, high pressure washers, and many people and children. They are wormed on a regular schedule appropriate to age and will have two vaccinations for distemper & parvo and be microchipped before they leave us at 10 weeks old. They continue to nurse from their mother to promote confidence and strong immune systems until she stops producing milk typically around week 9. They will also be started on car rides and crate training to make the transitions to their new families as easy as possible. Raising a litter of puppies is so much more than cute pictures and transactions. If you care about the animals you set them up for success by selectively choosing appropriate homes, providing a lifetime of support, preparing them to leave, and maintaining a level of responsibility to that puppy for its entire life. If you can’t do that please reconsider your choice to breed or raise litters.

Chicken is a 1 year old fully vetted herding dog mix. He is about 30 pounds and is full grown. He loves children and is very respectful of small ones. He gets along with cats and dogs. He ignores the livestock at the fences. He has been working on his sits, downs, and stays while he has been here with us. He is crate trained, clean and quiet in his crate. He is a very easy dog and would love a family for Christmas! We are also open to transfer to a rescue to help get him into a home. He is located in Odessa, TX and we have options for transport. Chicken is about 1 year old and recently neutered. He is up to date on vaccines and will be microchipped before he leaves. He is clean and quiet in a kennel or a crate. He is a very easy dog and just wants to be with someone. He is smart and has been working on sit, down, and stays while here with us. He was 32 pounds at his neuter appointment. He has done well with all of the dogs he has met and has also been around some cats without any issues. He would love to find a furever home for the holidays! He was abandoned in West Odessa and no owner has come forward to claim him. He is located in Odessa, TX but transport can be arranged for the right home. We are also open to transfer to a 501c3 rescue.

Chicken is doing great! He is scheduled for his neuter and full set of shots 11/30/2023. He will be available for adoption or can be released to a rescue after the 30th. He walks great on a leash and has started sits and downs. He is clean in his kennel and quiet until it is time to go outside. He’s a great size. Big enough to be active and go exploring with an active family but still small enough to carry if you needed to! He is a happy boy and loves everyone he meets. He ignores the chickens and didn’t chase the stray cat that cut across my field the other night. He’s been tested with dogs both bigger and smaller and he is happy to ignore them or play depending on what they ask from him. He will be a great companion for a family.

Silly Chicken is looking for a furever home!

It has been a full week with no sign of an owner and no one recognizes this guy. We will be scheduling him for vetting and starting to look for him a new home. If anyone is interested please let me know. He has done great in his crate. He is quiet and clean. He doesn’t know anything but loves people and is willing to learn. He doesn’t have any toy drive but has a great appetite and food drive. He has been tested around other dogs, both big and small, and he is very neutral. He is respectful when playing. He did great for his bath and blow dry. He is a very easy happy guy and is probably 8-12 months old.

Found! This dog showed up in west Odessa near FM 1936 and 16th. The neighbors in the area do not know the dog and have dogs of their own. It was not safe so I picked up the dog and will continue to look for the owners. If not claimed we will place in a new home. Not microchipped and no collar. Any vetting performed while waiting on the owners to claim and boarding fees will need to be paid for by the owner before pick up. Please share! Proof of ownership required!
