Happy tails to Hazel!!
For Hazel, our deaf rescue girl, her world has gotten a lot brighter thanks to my new hero Laura and Hazel's new mom, who is a middle school teacher!

We rescued Hazel from the shelter in late September where she was surrendered by her previous owner because they were "moving" 🙄. Hazel is deaf and has some vision impairment but beyond that she is a fantastic dog. House trained, great with other dogs, non reactive, not destructive, a lot of positive things about her, but most people turned away once they learned she was deaf.
They thought that was to much to handle.

We only had 2 serious interested applicants for Hazel, both were teachers!! The first unfortunately was allergic to her, and was devastated, but that same day she came back I received Laura's application.

Hazel, now Summer, which fits her bright eyes and personality is thriving in her new home.
Laura creates activities for her to stimulate her nose sense and takes her on lots of walks and she gets to meet all kinds of new dog friends and humans.
I am so thrilled there are humans like Laura in this world and if she is your child's teacher, you should be proud. She was willing to take on a deaf rescue dog with open arms.

Also a thank you to my good friend Liz, her dog Max, our MM clients Elizabeth and dog Baxter for also giving Hazel a place to call home for a few weeks during the holidays.
