WE ARE A 501C3 NON PROFIT.
100% of the donations goes directly to helping the animals. For the Love of Paws goes out to hand out donations to the homeless for their animal companions. These humans sacrifice the warmth, and comfort of a bed in a homeless shelter out of the weather to sleep in a tent, car, under freeways ect. In order to keep their animal companions. a lot of the animals are servi

ce animals for veterans that have served in the Armed forces for our country. We also continue to help them with any pet supplies they need once they do finally get into some kind of housing.

We still need donations of wet food for dogs, and cats. When they come into the shelter stressed, sick, or injured, this is usually the only thing they will eat. Thank you so much. Please cross post.

Please, if you are keeping pets outside, USE STRAW! Not blankets or towels or hay etc. Or better yet, bring your pets inside.

Snow and ice are here for the next few months, and whether this makes you dream of winter wonderland fun or sunny beaches, there is one winter weather item that you should keep in mind when outside with your pets -- ice melt!

Ice melts are typically made from various types of salts, and although most pets don't tend to ingest them on purpose they can ingest them accidently when licking their paws after a fun outing. Ingestion of ice melts can effect a pet's sodium levels and result in GI upset, or in larger ingestion amounts can result in tremors or seizures.

So how do you help prevent any complications of ice melt? Here are a few tips:
1. Don’t let dogs eat any of the salt or any of the snow (especially the slushy snow) outside that may have been treated with an ice melt.
2. Wipe your pet’s paws as soon as they get inside with a damp cloth or baby wipes.
3. If your dog's paw pads are becoming irritated, cracked or are bleeding from the ice melts, paw wax or doggie booties provide an excellent barrier to minimize risk to sensitive feet.
4. Keep all ice melt packaging out of paws’ reach.

Stay safe and have a wonderful winter season.
