My name is Sara and I’ve been grooming dogs and cats for almost 18 years. It wasn’t something I intended to do, but back in my younger days I was a veterinary technician and had moved back to South Dakota from Colorado and desperately needed a job. I applied for a grooming position at a vet clinic thinking I wouldn’t be grooming long as they would see that I was a very knowledgeable vet tech. Well, that’s not what happened. I absolutely fell in love with grooming. And, while I felt extremely challenged learning the different styles and standards, I loved it. Simple as that. After nearly 10 years at the vet clinic I took the big leap and opened my own business. It took about 6 months before I felt that I could do it and be successful at it. My clients were amazing, both 2 legged and 4 legged. My husband and I have missed the mountains ever since we left Colorado and we waited until our son graduated high school and moved our family, including our 13 year old daughter, Lily and our furry family members (Oscar, Seamus, Fionne, Sarge, and Catastrophe aka Princess Buttercup) to Idaho the end of May. After grooming full time for many years, I’ve decided to cut back to part time so that I may continue grooming, I hope, for many years to come. I specialize in dogs under 40# as I will be grooming out of our home in Blackfoot and am not set up for large dogs. I love big dogs-Fionne is an Irish Wolfhound, but I’ve had to make concessions to groom out of our home. I would love to get to know you and your furry family members in this beautiful state in which we now call home. I will begin taking appointments as of July 9th and am open by appointment only.
