Hope's Rescue

Hope's Rescue Hope's Rescue is dedicated to Hope, a little Chihuahua that was thrown into a firepit and later died from her injuries. Hope's legacy will live on.

We are a passionate group of volunteers who are dedicated in helping as many shelter and relinquished animals find forever homes as possible. Each one of our volunteers comes to our rescue with a wealth of knowledge and deep understanding of the problems that exist with the overflowing amount of animals in shelters that have no chance of making it out. We can not save ALL of them but we will save

as many as humanly possible. All of our animals will be in foster homes so that gives us the opportunity to see their behavior, training, special needs and anything else that needs to addressed before adopting out.

Remember HOPE'S RESCUE will not be adopting any of our adorable kids out after Dec 17th.

We don't do adoptions from Dec 17th until January 2nd.

Too much commotion and we worry about our dogs not having a calm adjustment period.
Plus, we worry about our dogs being a present and every dog should be a life long commitment......not a Christmas present....
Hopefully most can understand our policy, which we've had for 14 years.

Delilah came to us horribly neglected now look at her loved and taken care of, until she is ready to cross the rainbow bridge. Her foster mom just adores her! We couldn't run our hospice program and save sweethearts like Delilah without help from you. Giving these sweet souls a soft place to land for the rest of their lives.

Today is giving Tuesday and we appreciate all of our supporters that continue to amaze us with their dedication and support for HOPE'S RESCUE . Please remember that HOPE'S RESCUE has a hospice program and we rescue the seniors and those with lifelong medical issues to be a part of our families. They are loved and cherished until we have to say goodbye.
These are the precious souls who are with us currently.
Hope's has provided love and care to 270 hospice babies since 2013.

We have a very special little girl who has joined our rescue.

Her name is Lucy and she's around 4 to 5 years old.
Lucy spent 30 days in the shelter and we finally had an opening to take her.

Lucy was throwing up in the shelter and wasn't feeling good. We immediately took her to our vet and had bloodwork.
Unfortunately the bloodwork showed stage 3 kidney failure, so we immediately put her on prescription kidney food.
After a few days we noticed Lucy was regurgitating her food and water. We took her back to the vet and had an Xray to determine if there was possibly a blockage.

Sadly the news was that Lucy suffers from mega esophagus and she was regurgitating her food and water and was losing weight.

So we did a crash course of what we needed to do!

We found a Bailey chair and Lucy now eats from her chair and needs to wait for around 20 to 30 minutes before getting out.
She eating satin balls, kidney food 3 times a day) which are all high in nutrients and calories.

Lucy is probably the sweetest little girl ever! Her gentle spirit and her soulful eyes just melt your heart.

We know that Lucy's time with us will never be long enough, but until that day we will continue to fight for her and give her a wonderful life.

Ash is available for adoption! She's truly a sweetheart!

Freedom ride for Harper
This little gal is coming to Hope’s rescue today from a salt lake shelter.

Harper is around 9 years old and is deaf.
What a doll!
She’s so happy and loveable!

We’ll know more about Harper and her personality soon.

She will be seeing our vet soon for a good checkup and more than likely a dental.

Hope’s Rescue would like all of you to meet Clara.
Clara is a schnauzer poodle mix and weighs around 23 pounds.
This sweet girl has not had a good life in her 2 years.
We pulled her from the shelter around 3 weeks ago.
Her mouth had been taped or tied with something and she has the scars that remain.
When Clara arrived we saw that she walked with a definite limp and seemed weak in her back end.
We had an X-ray and sadly Clara had a broken pelvis. It had started to heal but definitely she is lame.

The pelvis will eventually heal, although will always walk with a limp, the scars will eventually be covered with her fur and the clumps of fur that has come out will eventually fill in.

We are more worried about how she will do emotionally.
She’s probably the most broken dog I’ve ever had in 16 years.
Each day I watch for improvement and there are days I see a little sign of her trusting me more but we have a long road ahead.

We’re hoping to do a post eventually where Clara is ready to find her very own loving family!

I guess only time will tell.
She’s safe and she’s loved and that’s ok for now!
