Now that Lilo & Stitch have been spayed and neutered, it’s adoption time! These two Pei are young, eager to learn, and definitely your best friends!

Seriously, these two have no concept of personal space. You will never be cold at night. Need a lap warmer? They will oblige.

Some background on them: Both were surrendered to the shelter because the previous owners could only afford to feed them once a week. They were emaciated and while in the shelter became ill with an upper respiratory infection.

Since they’ve been with us, they’ve recovered and gained healthy weight. They still have some issues with food guarding, but they are monitored at feeding time and respond to correction. Mostly, they just steal veggies from the resident giant tortoise.

Potty manners are outstanding! They learned the dog door the first day, and when the cold requires us to shut it due to heat loss, they wait politely for the next potty break.

They are unknown with cats, used to living in a multi-dog household, though Lilo tends to clash with dominant female dogs. They will need a secure yard due to a strong chase drive (wild turkeys and bunnies being the favorites).

Lilo (top) and Stitch (bottom) have been with us for just over a week now! They are recovering nicely from the kennel cough they arrived with and are gaining some much needed weight. As you can see Lilo is quite the snuggle bug and really works the cute every chance she gets. Stitch is definitely the clown Prince and loves to cuddle and play with all the toys.

They will be available after being spayed & neutered. Hopefully, we can get them scheduled after New Year’s.

I finally got a picture of the boy, Stitch. And also a new pic of Lilo enjoying the couch.

Stitch is a riot, a lover, a playmonster, and an all around good boy.

Lilo is attached to my hip, will lay next to you, and enjoy all the belly rubs, and love.

Both were surrendered by their family when hard times meant they could only feed them once a week. They are still skinny, but a little more time here means they will put on some pounds (like me!) Despite that, and a touch of kennel cough, they are healthy.

They mastered the doggy door in minutes and have been great with the other dogs. Cats are unknown. But, if you have a giant Sulcata, they’re good. 🤣

Both with be fixed before they go to a new home, along with the vaccinations they have received. They also are microchipped through HomeAgain.

It’s preferable they go together, but if they can’t, Stitch will need a home with an existing dog that can play with him. Lilo is more people focused.

Meet the new girl! She and her male companion (same color same build practically twins) joined North Country today. They both tested positive for an Upper Respiratory Infection and they are currently quarantining. He will eventually be heading to Merlin’s Hope. Once cleared they will be desexed and available for adoption.

He’s a bit jumpy so pics are coming.

It didn’t take long to find us! In addition to Chloe, we are taking in a dog from Manhattan. She is accompanied by a male Sharpei that will eventually head to Merlin’s Hope in Canada. Both will need to be spayed/neutered and get the usual vetting before going up for adoption.
