Huge congratulations to Ava Johnson and her Danish WB, Hoj's Danser, for earning the USDF Bronze medal in Santa Barbara this weekend. Although it was the first time Ava ever showed at Third Level (3-3) and she went off course twice, the pair still racked up a 66.875% in her very first test under Dinah Babcock, winning the Jr/YR division and tying for first place among all competitors - amateur, open and jr/yr. Very proud of this young lady who has worked very hard not only at dressage but also with learning to control her excitement and the tension that goes with it. Carrots to "Danser" for almost always keeping his cool and doing his best.

Huge congratulations to my student, Ava Johnson, for winning Jr 2nd level year end championship with the Santa Barbara Chapter of CA Dressage Society. I am so proud of her, she just gets better and better and is setting her sites on 3rd level this year.

I am so excited that Christian Simonson will be representing the USA as a member of the USET small tour team in the Pam American Games in Chile. He is truly a rising star and has accomplished so very much in such a short period of time. When he was only 10 years old, I knew he had exceptional talent and dedication. In response, I gave him a set of spurs previously used by my late husband, Maj Hector Carmona, a former Chilean cavalry officer and riding master. These were the first “big” (very smooth rowel spurs) spurs Christian had. I know that “The Major” (name he was called by many of his students) will be smiling down on Christian as he competes in his beautiful home country of Chile. Good luck to Christian and to all of our team members!

Congratulations again to Christian who, at just 20 yrs old, is short listed for the Pan Am games and currently the winner of both PSG and I1 qualifiers at the Festival of Champions. I am proud to offer 2 Harmonic Dressage books which literally took me a lifetime to be able to write. One of the reasons I love dressage so much is because there is no end to learning. So very proud of my former student, Christian Simonson, who in 6 years has become one of the highest ranked FEI young riders in the USA! He is also featured in my new book, Harmonic Dressage - Optimizing Your Seat and Use of the Aids. And, oh yes, he has also gotten 9's on his position and use of the aids at CDI's. Go Christian!
