Last week, we introduced you to Blondie, a sweet stray cat living outdoors who showed up with severe injuries on his neck and in desperate need of emergency care. We funded his care through our Emergency Care Program thanks to generous donations from our supporters. 🐱

That’s why we’ve chosen our Emergency Program to be our focus for this year’s Give NCW campaign.

Emergency care can be expensive, so every donation helps! Did you know there’s a special event on Mondays during Give NCW?

One of the wonderful things your donation helps with is providing emergency animal care. This is Blondie, a sweet loving kitty who was spotted living alone outdoors. For several weeks neighbors noticed him lurking in the bushes. One day he showed up with severe injuries on his neck. It took several weeks to coax him out and trap him. By the time he arrived for much needed veterinary care, his neck injuries had become so bad there were maggots inside the wound. Our veterinarian knew just what to do and in no time Blondie was on the mend! Blondie is not alone anymore - he was adopted into a forever home and loves to be petted! We hear he even loves the family dog 🥰

Happy Thanksgiving!

We are so thankful to all of you, our supporters, volunteers, and customers! With your help so far this year, we've been able to spay and neuter over 920 animals! So close to our goal of 1,000 animals per year! We have also been able to vaccinate an additional 285 animals and provide financial assistance for over 15 animals in need. 🐾

Okanogan Regional Humane is excited to be a part of Give NCW this year! ❤

While our mission is to significantly reduce the overpopulation of cats and dogs in the Okanogan Region, we also provide funding for Emergency Veterinary Care services.

Your generous contributions to Okanogan Regional Humane during Give NCW will go towards funding our Emergency Care Program, so we can continue our work to provide help for animals in need who have no financial support. 🐾

The campaign starts on Thanksgiving Day, November 28th!

It's about that time of year again! 🍂

The annual Give NCW Giving Campaign, benefitting nonprofits here in North Central Washington, is just around the corner. Since 2015, Give NCW has raised over $3.6 million for participating nonprofits! We are signed up to participate this year, along with several other local nonprofits. But more on that later. 😊

We're excited to share that The Community Foundation of NCW is hosting its 2nd annual Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving Day at 9am, and it's going to be a lot of fun! They had over 1,200 people participate last year, so don't wait to sign up.

There's even a costume contest! The "best dressed" winner gets a $500 giving card, and the "best group effort" gets a $1,000 giving card to donate to the nonprofit(s) they choose.

The best part is that all proceeds from the Turkey Trot go to benefit all participating Give NCW nonprofits! What better way to kick off a day dedicated to gratitude than by giving back to our community?

🐾 Honoring Our Canine Heroes This Veteran’s Day 🇺🇸

Today, we salute the brave dogs who have served alongside our veterans. From bomb detection to search and rescue, these incredible pups work tirelessly to protect and serve with loyalty, courage, and heart. 💙🐾

At Good Reasons, we’re inspired by all dogs, especially the ones who make such a big difference in the world. As we remember our veterans today, we’re also giving a big round of “a-paws” to the dogs who have served by their sides. 🐶❤️

Here’s to the powerful bond between humans and dogs that strengthens us all, in and out of service. Thank you to all the veterans, two- and four-legged, for keeping us safe! 🫡

Happy World Animal Day!

We’re fortunate that we get to share our world with such a variety of animals. They contribute so much to the ecological balance and bring joy to our lives in their own special ways. It's really important that we treat all animals with compassion and kindness.

One way we can show our love for animals is by adopting, spaying and neutering, and making sure our pets are up to date on vaccinations. This helps keep them happy and healthy. If we all work together to help and speak up for animals, we can make the world a better place for them!

As of the end of surgery yesterday Okanogan Regional Humane has altered 9000 animals!!! Steadily chipping away! A big thank you to Dr. Honeyfield, the local vet clinics we work with, our supporters, and our volunteers, we could not do what we do with out each and every single one of you.
