New school year means the start of a new lesson season and we couldn’t be more excited! No matter the style you want to ride in, our balanced seat lessons will get you where you need to be in the saddle. Horsemanship is our #1 priority. Not interested in riding? Horsemanship starts on the ground and so do we! We are all about learning and fun!! Join us!

We are taking our services from the beach to the barn! SFA is teaming up with a PATH Intl certified therapeutic riding instructor to now offer our families therapeutic riding and equine assisted learning as additional services for a fee. The benefits from equine assisted therapies and learning help both the body and mind no matter one’s ability. Our instructor has worked with riders of all levels of abilities for over a decade and has 40+ years experience in the equine field. Sessions will be offered mounted or unmounted for 1/2 hour or an hour depending on the needs and ability of the client. We will build a schedule around the needs of the community so please let us know if this is something your loved one would be interested in and could benefit from.

She was shaking, hyperventilating, crying. We took some deep breaths and started walking. We continued walking through the waves of panic. Breathing. Then relaxing. Smiles came out. “This is fun”, “Can we keep going?” Panic and fear turned into “Ms Kristy, look what I can do!”
I will never not challenge you to step outside of your comfort zone. Be uncomfortable safely and you can become great. My job is to teach you how to ride and be safe. My passion is to build you up and create greatness and confidence within yourself 💪🏻 😃

We are having so much fun teaming up with Nature Speaks to help with their summer camp horse program. We even did an impromptu quiet birthday hour for a sweet little boy and a couple buddies. He is on the spectrum so I played it by ear watching and seeing what he was really wanting to do. I think just being at the farm and seeing and hearing the horses was fun for him. The other two little guys groomed and loved on the horses and even rode ba****ck despite the rain. I just love what I do! 🥰🎠
Meet Banyan 🌳 the Icelandic horse. He will be 8 this month. He stands at 13.3 hands. Banyan is full of character and loves attention. We know he will be an amazing addition to our lesson and therapy program. He is already a barn favorite. I mean, how could he not be with that wild hair do and great smile 🤣
We had a wonder first day of horse camp! It was my absolute pleasure to assist in running camp for my good friend at Nature Speaks. Teaching children how to develop a balanced seat for all around good riding and how to care for the horses is so very rewarding.

Dystonia and CP have not diminished this young man’s fight to be as independent as possible. It was a core muscle day and he has gained so much strength physically and mentally that he was practically begging to see how long he could hold himself up without the aid of the sidewalker. I will always allow them to demonstrate their accomplishments as long as it can be done safely. Anyone with a horse can put a person up there and lead them around. The knowledge of body mechanics, both human and equine, along with knowing the specifics of the disability you are working with and having safe horses is essential. This is my passion and I take great care to make sure it is done correctly, safely and educationally. Knowing your clients and their areas of confidence and areas where they struggle helps to be able to build suitable and functional lessons. We are so extremely proud of how far Noah has come in his time with us.😊

We conducted a successful trail training session with Logan today, and soon to be focusing on safety and proper riding techniques for his family so that they may enjoy riding him. We also successfully body clipped a young mini donkey with shedding and matting issues, despite her being unfamiliar with the process. All it takes is understanding and a little patience. Hygain has saved Saint’s hind gut and he and Charlie are thriving on it… unfortunately Hygain has pulled out of the US so when it’s gone it’s gone. If anyone would like to help us out and call up to Palm City Horse & Hound to order us Munga, Release, Showtorque, TruCare or Balanced we would be forever grateful! It will give us added time to do the needed research to find the absolute best replacement so our boys get the best outcome. We have an account under Kristy Creswick.
