Due to recently announced Hunt Test & SRS Event Dates in Feb., we have changed the Feb training day to Feb 1 beginning at 9AM.

TCRC Policy: Pre-register to get the $5 Per Dog Rate. It’s $20 Per Dog if you show up without pre-registering first! You can still pay on the day of the event with Cash or Check if you choose, but you must still pre-register to get the $5 per dog rate.

Attendees are expected to take turns working the wingers and/or helping with set-up and tear-down for the day. If you’ve never done it before, it’s OK, we will show you what to do. It’s easy and gives you a new vantage point from the field that will help you to be a better handler!

Please remember that, due to liability insurance reasons for the landowner, you must be up to date on your 2025/26 membership to train your dog at the club training day.

Very Important Update. Possible Last Minute Hunt Test Entry Date Changes.

It recently came to my attention that the date to enter the Treasure Coast Retriever Club's and the Tallahassee Retriever Club's November 2024 Hunt Tests are currently, as of Monday night, both happening at exactly the same date and time (tomorrow night). The tests will be held on separate weekends but the entry dates are the same. We are working with AKC to fix this problem.

Due to this situation, Treasure Coast RC may be pushing the entry date for our Nov 15-17 Tests back by one week, to Oct. 29, 2024, instead of tomorrow night, pending AKC approval.

Why did this scheduling conflict happen & why does it matter?

This scheduling conflict happened, according to what I have been told, due to the chaos surrounding the hurricanes. Apparently, Fall Line RC pushed back their entry dates, which caused Tallahassee to push their entry date, which is causing Treasure Coast RC to push back their date, which may cause Jacksonville RC to push back their entry dates. NOTE: The event dates are not changing, just the dates to enter online.

The entry dates matter because if you want to register for Master tests, they can fill up within the first couple of minutes of the opening date and time. For example, if you wanted to enter Tallahassee and Treasure Coast there would be no way to enter both at exactly the same time. Due to this many people who planned to attend both tests would lose a fair opportunity to be able to get into both events.

The bottom line is if you want to enter Tallahassee, Treasure Coast, and Jacksonville Hunt Tests, some of the dates to ENTER may be changing if approved by AKC. I suggest you go to Entry Express and look to see if the entry dates have been changed online tomorrow afternoon.

Here's the view from one of the wingers, as we were able to squeeze in a nice training day today, before the impending Hurricane Milton chaos that's about to unfold. It was actually cool and just an occasional drizzle and turned into a great day to train . Now it's time to batten down the hatches and get ready. Everybody stay safe and God bless you all.

Yes, we know there are Hunt Tests this weekend and many of you will be out of town.

Due to scheduling conflicts for the remaining weekends of February, we have decided to hold a Club Training for the people who will be in town instead of just canceling for February all together. Good luck to those running tests!

A limited amount of LIVE FLYERS WILL BE AVAILABLE. They Will Be $20 each and are limited to one per dog. If you want a live flyer they are FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED! Please email Kathy McGinn at [email protected] to get your name on the list before they are all gone. Bring Cash or Check to pay for birds on the day of the event if you have reserved any birds with Kathy.

Great seminar for Retrievers coming soon in South Florida.

It was so nice, we had to have it twice.

We have Clark Kennington coming down again for another seminar. This will be a Part 2 to last year’s seminar. But if you missed last year’s seminar, don’t worry. There will be so much to learn.

This seminar is for Advanced dogs. They MUST be at the transitional level between Senior & Master (or advanced).

The dates will be held January 29-31st. And will be held at Yellow Dog Ranch.

There are 12 dog handler spots.

Dog handler spots are priced at $500 to those whom are active members of BOTH the South Florida HRC Club & Treasure Coast Retriever Club.

This is a discounted price from the original price of $550 for non active club members.

Observer spots are priced at $250 for all 3 days or $100 per day. And there are unlimited spots.
