We are seeking a dependable and experienced heavy machine operator or driver. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely and efficiently transferring pallets of finished products from the processing facility to the finished goods warehouse with a yard truck. This role does not require a CDL license, but having one is a plus. This position requires some experience operating semi-trucks, handling large loads, heavy equipment, or farm equipment. You will also be performing routine maintenance on the yard truck and semi-trailers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate a yard truck and semi-trailer to transfer finished goods between facilities.
• Ensure all products are handled and transported safely and securely to prevent damage.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of the yard truck and semi-trailers to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including trailers and equipment.
• Follow all safety protocols and company procedures, including adherence to on-time schedules.
• Collaborate with team members when needed, offering assistance during high-demand periods or special projects.
• Monitor and report any vehicle or equipment issues to management promptly.
• Exhibit reliability and accountability by consistently being on-time and dependable.
Qualifications:
• Experience in semi-trucks, yard trucks, large loads, or farm equipment is preferred.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a team-oriented mindset.
• Strong focus on safety and attention to detail.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• CDL license is a plus but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Work Environment:
• Requiring regular standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Work in varied weather conditions.
• Independent work environment with occasional team interaction.
• Would be required to fill-in for your counterpart if they are unable to come to work.
• 12-hour shifts, 24/7; 7 AM – 7 PM, 7 PM-7 AM work schedules.
