The Cat Lounge is visible from the coffeeshop through full-glass walls for a great view of the kitties from anywhere.

A customer recommended the book “I Could P*e on This (And Other Poems by Cats)”, so we bought it. But then Amazon recommended “How to Tell if Your Cat is Plotting to Kill You”, so then of course we bought that too. It was clear by now this was starting to spiral out of control and we needed to cut it off at the two. Next was “How to Talk to Your Cat About Gun Safety”, “How to Know if Your Cat is Trying to Introduce Communism in Your House”, and “Meow (Volume 1)”. Along with the more distinguished reads of “Philosopurrs” and “101 Ways to Know if Your Cat is French”.

We showed great restraint and only wound up with the two, for now, but we’ve got a ton of fun little cat reads in our cafe. Many even with a heavy picture presence. No reservation needed to drop by the cafe for a drink and to chill, read a book, play some games, and watch some cats. Just remember, “Want to pet a cat? Make a reservation for that.”

Our monthly Facebook earnings can almost pay for two days of business insurance 😂 We mostly just find this weirdly entertaining. Always thought it sounded crazy that people could make money through social media and couldn’t imagine what it really looked like, still don’t really, considering this only pays about 2 hours worth of bills for us and there’s people out there making a living this way 😅 So if anyone else out there is as confused as us by it all, here’s a little bit of what it looks like. Really though, we’re just here because we just like talking to you, want people to learn about us, and our cats are too cute to not share.

Tulsa, y’all nearly broke us yesterday 🤯 Our new best drink sales day ever! More than TWICE as many drinks as our best ever day in OKC. Thank you ❤️ At the same time, we weren’t able to provide the level of service we expect from ourselves. We’re still getting the hang of this amount of traffic and our brand new team is still getting the hang of things. We are acting quickly to work out these new business kinks. If we need to add more equipment, we will. If we need to add more staff, we will. It’s super important to us to staff appropriately, with a great care to avoid overstaffing. Although overstaffing provides a lot of benefits to a business, it is not good for employees counting on us to provide a certain amount of hours to work per week – that’s the kind of practice you support when not shopping local. We made our best decision on staffing levels based on what we could project, and you showed up even more than we could have hoped, so we’re excited to consider growing our team. This also is a reminder that we do have a full team and some reserves currently, though you can still always submit an application for future consideration.

P.S. your daily reminder that reservations are NOT needed for the Cafe but ARE needed to go inside the Cat Lounge. Or, as Shannon from yesterday put it, “Want to pet a cat? Make a reservation for that.”

For clarity, reservations are only required for going inside the Cat Lounge. The Cafe is always open to all and provides a great view of the cats through the glass walls of the Lounge. Reservations are $15 and made through our website. We have availability as early as Tuesday. Our $5 drinks are pretty much as cheap as you’re going to find at a local specialty coffee shop. And if anyone has any ideas on how we can make this more obvious to prevent this kind of sadness, we’ve done everything two years of effort has come up with, so we’re all ears.

You can thank Michaela for his “Juicy” jammies 🙄🤭 Poor little man didn’t get a say, but at least he’s warm. Mr. Pancakes will be making a surprise appearance in Tulsa for about a week. We’re headed back home in OKC for a few days to sleep in our own bed for the first time in a couple of months and, , literally didn’t have room in the car for one more cat-carrier-sized piece of luggage. So we figured it would be fun to let him make some new friends for a few days until we make it back.

Having this level of control allows us to visualize and revise our design in real time, resulting in a cat cafe matching our vision for it exactly. All this talk about TikTok has us thinking about the time our entirely staff ran account got nearly 100,000 likes and reached over 300,000 people. This account had 6 videos, about 1,000 followers, and made us $0.00 #wewillrebuild 🙏

Tulsa construction update 🚧 Things are moving quickly. We’re just days away from below slab plumbing inspection then will have concrete poured before building upwards. The ramp you see will be inside the Cat Lounge to provide wheelchair accessibility to the two different levels we have inside the Lounge. The different levels, as well as a couple of nook areas, will provide some separation between visitors to create some unique, semi-private opportunities for seating inside the Lounge.

For best (mental) health, one should always begin their day with kitty crunches 💕

Took a little road trip and you can bet we’re finding the kitties wherever we go 😍 Met these new besties from the Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary at the Pawffee Shop Cat Cafe in Appleton, WI.

IT’S PARTY NIGHT 🎉 Every Monday we close to the public so we can host groups for their special occasions. You get the entire place to yourself and a couple dozen guests, can bring outside food & drinks, decorate, hire performers, etc. We’ve seen some pretty cool ones, including this throwback video from a couple months ago.
