Meet 3 of them from our “cat crew”: Jaguar, Tiger & Panther! They were pulled from the euthanasia list at the shelter a few weeks ago due to being too young to be in the environment 🥺

📖Let us read you a bedtime story, we will title it the “Story of Misunderstanding and Redemption: A Dog’s Fight for a Second Chance”

Social media can be a powerful tool, but sometimes, it can also be a place where rumors and accusations spread like wildfire—leaving devastation in their wake. This is the story of a man and his loyal dog, who faced heartbreaking judgment from keyboard warriors, all while they were struggling just to survive.

This man’s best friend, his dog named Palomo, escaped his yard for the first time to go on an adventure. Unfortunately that adventure was cut very short just down his block when he was tragically hit by a car, leaving him with a severe injury. His owner, heartbroken and desperate, did not know what resources, if any, may be available to him for Palomo and a language barrier just made it more difficult to communicate any needs. So he made sure his best friend was fed yummy food and kept his terrible wound cleaned the best he could. Social media got animal control involved and he did what he thought was best: he surrendered his beloved companion to animal control, hoping they could provide the care he couldn’t afford all while knowing he would never see his best friend again 💔 As he handed over his dog, tears streamed down his face, a testament to the love he had for Palomo.

But instead of understanding and support, social media erupted with accusations. Strangers, with no desire to hear the real story, accused this grieving man of cruelty, even going so far as to claim he had cut off his own dog’s paw. In reality, his only crime was not having the means to help his injured dog himself.

The next day, this dog—who had already suffered so much—was placed on the euthanasia list at the shelter. His life, which had just been upended by tragedy, was now on the brink of being cut short, all because of a community that failed to recognize the love and pain of his owner. Where did those accusers go when they learned of this? They deleted posts and slithered away, hopefully learning a valuable lesson of humanity and community.

We heard about this dog’s plight and we just knew we couldn’t let this story end in heartbreak. A BIG thanks to a willing foster stepping up, we were able to pull him from the shelter before Palomo was euthanized, giving him the second chance he so desperately deserves.

This story isn’t just about one dog—it’s a reminder that we, as a community, must do better. We must be kinder, more compassionate, and less quick to judge. This dog and his owner didn’t need accusations; they needed help! And while this story will have a beautiful ending, it’s also a call to action to stand up for those who can’t speak for themselves and to offer support to those in need, not condemnation.

Thank you to everyone who helps make these second chances possible. Together, we can make sure that no one—human or animal—is left to face their battles alone❤️‍🩹

Meet our new friend! 🐶 This cute girl was found rolling in a patch of grass having the best day. One of our fosters saw her and quickly realized she had no owner in sight, no collar and later found out she’s not chipped. She was reported as found but no owner came forward 💔

But we’ve got this girl and she will be OK! 🫶🏻

Here’s the deal, she’s currently got a nickname of Puppy, but she needs a real name! Help us choose her new name for her new life because we obviously can’t choose! Put your choice in the comments! 💕

Re-introducing Jasper 🐶 Sound up 🔊

As you may recall, Jasper was in the right place at the right time when he wandered up to a residence to hang out with some pup friends. Why the right place at the right time you may ask? Well, little did he know investigators would be arriving on scene where he would quickly win over their hearts and get to safety ❤️‍🩹

Jasper has been with us since mid February and neither he or we understand why he hasn’t found his furever home he so truly deserves. He is the bestest boy and deserves the world after being let down by humans for the first part of his young life 💔

Bailey's story began with a bit of adventure if you recall—she was found hiding under a car, rescued by a kind soul. Initially, she was quite timid, preferring to stay quiet and out of sight. But with time and love, Bailey has grown more confident and now shares her gentle opinions (though she’s still a soft-spoken lady).

Bailey has a heart for the simple pleasures in life. She loves basking in a sunbeam, cuddling up during TV time, and playing with her toys—especially her beloved triple ball tower! Happy Tails Tuesday! 💕

Atticus & August were the last of their litter to be adopted but these boys finally had their day! The brothers are going to get to experience the travel life with their humans! 😻🚌 We are so glad they are getting to stay together. Her foster momma named her Oreo and while she luckily was unharmed 🙌🏻 we did shortly later find out that she had not one, but two, Cuterebra. You may know them as being called botflies 🤮 We got those removed and she’s all healed up ❤️‍🩹

Starting this week off with a Happy Tails!

It’s a late Happy Tails post but we are still so thrilled this momma found her furever even if she didn’t want to pose for the pictures! 🤪 She went to live her new life in Missouri with her new mom! 🥰💜🐾

Momma Kitty came to us as an owner surrender when her family moved and couldn’t keep her at their new residence. In fact, Momma Kitty’s whole family were surrendered together and two fosters tag teamed taking them into our care 🙌🏻 Her son Chevy (already adopted 😻) along with her older daughter Scarlet (also adopted and on the same day as her mom! 🥰) as well as Scarlet’s 2 babies Dodge (adopted 😻) and Ford!

Welcome the new kid to the rescue, Koy! 🐶

This sweet boy was found wandering near a busy road all alone ⚠️ and a Good Samaritan stopped to see if he needed help. After some searching, it turns out he had a home and owners that would let him wander the streets all alone, on purpose. A home that ultimately said they just couldn’t care for him anymore at just 3 months old 💔 Fearing this pup may end up injured or in the wrong hands, the Good Samaritan agreed to take him in as a foster and seek the help of a rescue. That's where we stepped in! 🐾

No worries Koy, you’re OK now 🫶🏻

We don't know what the first 13 weeks of his life have looked like, but we're committed to ensuring the rest of his life is the best of his life! He's so silly and sweet, we're excited to watch him blossom 🥰🥹 Koy has a few weeks until he will be ready for adoption, but we know he's going to make an amazing companion to a lovely family out there when the time comes🐾
