She does have her collar on with her owners Information and is microchipped

As many of you may already know, we are saying goodbye to Dr. Caroline Williams at the end of this month. She is leaving Quail Creek to start a dermatology residency. While we are sad to see her go, we are happy that she gets to pursue a passion.
We will miss you Dr. Williams! Good luck!

As you may have heard, the highly infectious Canine Influenza has made its way into the OKC area. While it may sound scary, the vast majority of dogs who get the Flu will have have symptoms similar to Kennel Cough (coughing, sneezing, nasal and/or ocular discharge and lethargy) for 5-7 days. The dogs who are getting severely ill are typically those who are older or with underlying/chronic illnesses.

There is a vaccine, but it is in short supply. We have a limited quantity in our clinic currently and are reserving those for high risk patients — those who have to board, older patients, or those with chronic diseases. The vaccine requires a booster 3 weeks after the first dose; however, due to supply limitations, we are unable to guarantee that we will have sufficient supply to booster everyone —when we’re out we’re out 😕 (there is a chance we may be able to get more towards the end of April, but again, not guaranteed). And as with all vaccines, it may not prevent your pet from contracting Influenza but should help minimize symptoms.

With all of that being said, the best protection for your pets currently may be to just avoid areas where they may be exposed. High risk areas are dog parks, boarding and day care facilities, training facilities, and groomers. Most boarding/daycare and grooming facilities are doing their best to limit risk within their facilities but they can only do so much.

If your pet is exhibiting symptoms of any upper respiratory illness, contact us to schedule an appointment. We are having ill pets wait in cars until we are able to safely es**rt them to a room.

We are looking for full and part time kennel technicians. This is a geat introductory position in the veterinary field! Job duties include feeding, walking and bathing boarding dogs as well as feeding and caring for boarding cats. Other responsibilities include cleaning of cages and laundry associated with boarding pets. Kennel assistants will also assist the veterinary technicians as needed.

It’s May and all Oklahomans know that means severe weather. Please make sure your pets have collars and tags with your current information and if your pet is microchipped, make sure the registration and information is up to date.
Just because your pet is chipped, doesn’t always mean that that chip is registered to you. We register all microchips we implant at the time of implantation. But if the pet was chipped elsewhere, or if the phone number/address/ownership has changed, please contact the microchip company to update the information.
