TWO NEW Springtails available! Ceratophysella Sp Lilac and Albino Yellow Lilac. You’ve asked for more colors and I’ve got them. These are a proven clean up crew with voracious appetites for uneaten food, and are best kept in terrariums with high humidity or moisture.

Pineapple Spiky isopod - Cristarmadillidium Muricatum. Small yet popular spiky isopod species because of their more affordable prices (for a spiky species) and beginner friendly care level. They thrive with larger charcoal pieces in their substrate and dotting the substrate floor.

🚨 New developments in the Isopod world! 📰

According to Benny Kästle:
“We just published a paper where we reassessed the genus Merulanella. Following this, all Merulanella species in the pet trade now belong to the new genus Ardentiella, with Ardentiella bicolorata (formerly Merulanella bicolorata) being the type species of the new genus.
We also discuss the taxonomic impediment (i.e. the challenges associated with taxonomy), as well as biogeography! I encourage everyone interested in taxonomy and biogeography to give it a read!

Sneak peek of a new species I picked up at the show in Tulsa - A. Officinalis “Sicily”. These are in the “hissing isopod” family. When they feel threatened, they curl into a ball and rub their legs together to make a “hissing” sound. So cool!
