Apple & Cranberry Dog Dental Sticks 🍎🍒🐾
These Apple & Cranberry Dog Dental Sticks are a healthy and chewy treat designed to help clean your dog’s teeth while providing a tasty, nutrient-rich snack. Packed with antioxidants and fiber, they’re perfect for keeping your pup’s mouth healthy and their tail wagging!

Ingredients:
1/2 cup finely grated apple (peeled, core removed)
1/4 cup finely chopped unsweetened dried cranberries
1/2 cup oat flour (or whole wheat flour)
1/4 cup rolled oats
1 large egg
1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for added moisture)
Instructions:
1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Prepare the Dough
In a mixing bowl, combine the grated apple, chopped cranberries, egg, and coconut oil (if using). Stir until evenly mixed. Gradually add the oat flour and rolled oats, stirring until a sticky dough forms. If the dough feels too wet, add more oat flour 1 tablespoon at a time.

3. Shape the Dental Sticks
Divide the dough into small portions and roll each portion into stick shapes about 4-5 inches long and 1/2 inch thick.

4. Bake
Place the sticks on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until firm and lightly golden. For a crunchier texture, reduce the oven temperature to 250°F (120°C) and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.

5. Cool Completely
Allow the dental sticks to cool completely on a wire rack before giving them to your dog.

Storage:
Refrigerate: Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
Freeze: Freeze for up to 1 month. Thaw before serving.
Benefits:
Apple: Rich in fiber and vitamins A and C, promoting digestive and immune health.
Cranberries: High in antioxidants, supporting urinary tract health and reducing inflammation.
Oat Flour: Gentle on sensitive stomachs and great for digestion.
Rolled Oats: Adds texture and helps support gut health.
Egg: Provides protein and essential nutrients for muscle and coat health.
These Apple & Cranberry Dog Dental Sticks are a wholesome, chewy treat that’s perfect for promoting dental hygiene and overall health. Your dog will love the natural flavors, and you’ll love how easy they are to make! 🐕✨🦴🍎

1 large sweet potato
1 large apple (core and seeds removed)
1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for added moisture)

Wash the sweet potato and apple thoroughly.

4. Arrange on Baking Sheet or Dehydrator Tray
Place the slices in a single layer, ensuring they don’t overlap.

5. Bake or Dehydrate

With colder weather finally here, consider leaving the leaves be. Help local wildlife with the leaves in your yard. Fallen leaves play a crucial role in the ecosystem. Leaves act as natural mulch, helping retain moisture in the soil. As they decompose, they enrich the soil with organic matter and nutrients, promoting plant health. Some moths and butterflies use leaf litter to hibernate until spring. Fireflies and beetles use the leaves as insulation. This contributes to a thriving ecosystem, supporting birds, reptiles and small mammals that eat insects. So, this season, leave some leaves for nature.

The bonus is to see your sweet pets enjoying it, too!

My kitty Momma S'mores.

She was another TNR feral. Accept. She had a home, somewhere, before she found her way to my family. My kid, Benjamin , fell in love. So ya know how that story played out.

Here she is, 6 months later bossing me for pieces of human kibbbles. 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ I was cooking dinner.

Stan has a new feline sister named Stormy.

Stormy was a TNR feral kitty that I had been working to socialize. I finally got her to a good spot and matched her with her new owner, Stan and his dad.
