I have Mr. Woody staying with me at the moment.

We had an adventure day.

Note: I did not keep him out on the snow very long. I used paw protection salve. We hiked with him about .5 mile round trip in 30 min. We went slow . It was slippery in the hills. He wasHis foot health was a top priority.

Anyways it was amazingly beautiful.

Strawberry & Oat Nibbles for Dogs 🍓🥣🐾
These Strawberry & Oat Nibbles are a delightful, bite-sized snack that’s easy to make and packed with natural sweetness and nutrition. Perfect for training, rewarding, or simply treating your pup with love!

Ingredients:
1 cup rolled oats (blended into a coarse flour)
1/2 cup fresh strawberries (washed, hulled, and finely chopped or mashed)
1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
1 large egg (for binding)
1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for healthy fats)
1 teaspoon honey (optional, for natural sweetness)
Instructions:
Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Prepare the Wet Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the mashed strawberries, applesauce, egg, coconut oil (if using), and honey. Mix well.
Add the Oats

Alaskan sled dogs are a mixed breed dog selected strictly for their racing performance. From my research, there seems to be crosses out there claiming to be an Alaskan Husky sled Dogs?

A) Top row: Sprint racing teams of “traditional” Alaskan sled dogs (no purebred crossings in the last 5 generations) and Pointer crossed Alaskan sled dogs. Spandex dog coats (in blue) are commonly used on shorter-haired Pointer × Alaskan sled dogs when temperatures are ≤10’F.
B) Middle row: Sprint sled dogs of 25% or greater Pointer ancestry according to their written pedigree records.
C) Bottom row: “Traditional” Alaskan sled dogs from distance racing teams. All photos were taken between 2006-2009 of dogs competitively racing in high performance kennels.

Took the day off from my dog jobs, for some personal time. Instead I took my girl, Tao, on a trail hunt, she chose to track deer. I let her pick the trails. I'm glad I did.

Note: I've never trained her for this or scent work.

Also. I will not disclose the location, and this is protected land.

I had a day off from the shelter world, so I naturally went hiking.. Took my girl Tao and Rabbit. It was cold, drizzly and gross. But. The trails weren't too bad. I even found an 8? point buck, who was napping, right by the trails. Also. the dog woods are blooming.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Yule Time, Christmas, or just a great holiday.

Remember, holidays are meant to cherish those you're with and love. It's not about the presents, or the perfect holiday dinner. It's the small cherish-able moments that count.
