⚠️ Medical Monday: Rabies Alert for Oklahoma Residents ⚠️

Several positive rabies cases have already been confirmed in Oklahoma this year. To protect your family and animals, make sure all pets and livestock are up to date on their rabies vaccinations.

🐶 Dogs and cats 12 weeks or older are eligible for vaccination.
📅 A booster is required one year after the initial shot, then every 1 to 3 years depending on the vaccine type.

Last year, a dog in Cleveland County tested positive for rabies—it had previously been vaccinated but was not current on its shots. Staying up to date is critical for protection.

What you need to know about rabies in Oklahoma:

🦨 Primary carriers: Skunks and bats
🦠 Transmission: Through saliva, typically via bite wounds
🧤 Handling bats: Always wear gloves! Even if you don’t feel a bite, bat teeth are tiny and you might be bitten without knowing it. Handling a bat with bare hands is considered an exposure.

✅ Be proactive:

Keep vaccinations current

Avoid contact with wild animals

Report unusual wildlife behavior

UPDATE: ADOPTED! 🥹

This special baby girl is now looking for her forever home, after being bottle fed from a few days old by our own tech, Marcy. She is around 8 weeks old, has had her first booster vaccine, tested negative for FeLV/FIV and been dewormed. She's very playful, personable and loves to be snuggled. Please stop by the clinic if you'd like to meet her.

These little cute dudes are in search of their forever homes! They were found as young pups on the side of the road. They have found their way into a loving foster home that has been caring for and vetting them well, but the foster would really like to try to find them homes of their own. They are about 5 months old right now and all three are boys. They seem to be lab mixes but don't appear to be likely to get very large. Please let us know if you would like to meet them!

Meet Nic (or Nicky)! She ended up at our clinic by a string of fate and has a microchip that lead us nowhere. From what we've gathered, she has had multiple homes with no one willing to claim her. I really don't understand how due to how incredibly loving and friendly she is; however, she can jump short fences. She's been tested with a stockade fence and has not even attempted it, so there are limits to her abilities (or so we think). She is a petite, yet muscle-y little girl with big energy. But she sits nicely and listens well. She has potential to be an excellent adventure dog 🏕. She needs an active home with preferably other playful dogs. She loves to play and has been very friendly with other dogs. She has little to no interest in our clinic cats, will just walk right past them. She's heartworm negative and has been brought up to date on vaccines. She has not been spayed yet but this will happen before her adoption. Please let us know if you'd like to come meet her!

This baby girl has lived here too long! She's approximately 5 months old and was left in a carrier in our parkinglot. She is very personable but can be a little feisty at times. She would do well in a home with another playful cat. She is a lot of fun and deserves a home of her own, not being raised in a vet clinic. Please come by and meet her anytime!
