No rain this morning! We were able to clean and feed without getting wet. The sun is out and it’s cool but not freezing.

Deanna took Pip for a short walk to stretch his legs.. they went out to the arena and did a few laps. He got to visit with Clifford and Clifford was quite excited.

I have the sump pump going in the retention pond as it is FULL!

I have some chores to do.. garbage dump and feed store… I will stop for coffee as well because I deserve it.

I got a tub type feeder mounted for Clifford to eat out of.. he was making a mess of his stall by sorting through his food and throwing the stuff he didn’t want out to the side.

Today is National Day of the Horse!

Let’s celebrate their beauty and contributions to the history of America!

Horses in our American history made our lives better and continue to do so today!

Did you know?
Roughly 2 million people own horses in the United States. There are approximately 9.2 million horses who live in the United States and approximately 4.6 million people who work in a horse related industry as owners, service providers, employees and volunteers.

I found something that worked for (at least this morning) getting medication into Pip…
Peanut butter . He took his Gabapentin and Prascend in one bite. Score!
This was a tip from Carla…
Yes, it still has some sugar but not too bad for a teaspoon.
I am going to see if I can roll the InsulinWise in peanut butter..
He was taken for a walk in the arena yesterday.. soft footing, no grass .. he was winded afterwards.

Fortunately we had a spare for him and he is now outfitted for the weather.

Much work was done today.. the remainder of the drainage ditch was dug.. just in time for the rain to come this week. We also took advantage of the good weather to clean up the overgrown front area. All the alder saplings were hauled to the back composting area.

Krista and I fed them cleaned this morning… then Krista cut my boards for the window sills..😊 I ordered stain for them today.
Susy and I fed dinner and watered … we looked for eggs as it seems the hens have a new secret nest… and we didn’t find it.

Pip ate most of his medicine this morning .. I out waited him.
I have an additional chore to get done tomorrow with the fence lines .. and I need to replant some fir trees we saved today.. itty bitty fellas who need a chance to grow.

I get a chance to get a tour of West Sound Wildlife and to meet Walter the opossum ..
Next week!

Our Story

DONATION INFORMATION: Paypal to [email protected] or mail to : Pony Up Rescue for Equines PO Box 1023 Olalla, WA 98359

Our mission is to rescue, rehab and re-home equines in Washington State who are victims of neglect, abuse or abandonment. We may provide sanctuary for older horses who are not adoptable. We provide resources and education for our local community to help facilitate better care of equines. We offer hands on experience, community low cost health clinics, food banks and euthanasia assistance. We also help other farm animals as our budget and capacity allow.

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. All donations are tax deductible, and we are part of many giving campaigns, including the WA State Employees Combined Fund Drive, the Boeing and Microsoft Giving Campaigns.

We are proud to be 100% volunteer managed. We open our doors to visits from youth centers and veteran programs to facilitate hands on learning about horses and other farm animals.
