On April 18th we got a call from our friends at Always & Furever Midwest Animal Sanctuary about a momma dog in really rough shape and her 7 puppies that she could no longer care for. We were able to make sure their mom, Esperanza, was stable before sending her to Blue Pearl for a blood transfusion and emergency surgery, but then we were left with 7 hungry puppies on Easter weekend. A lot of fosters were already leaving town and these babies needed help - our staff stepped up! Dr. Gibbs, Dr. Stafford, Melissa, Peyton, and their families kept the babies over the holiday weekend and they became just a little bit "ours." We named them after the characters from Encanto and got to show them how great people can be. They went on to their new fosters after that, but we got to see them grow up for their vaccine appointments, pre-surgery bloodwork, and then, today, that journey is finally coming to an end. "Our" beautiful, healthy babies got spayed/neutered and get to be officially adopted into their forever homes! 💜

As we prepare for the 4th, we wanted to give everyone a last reminder to get your requests for medications in soon! We won't be able to guarantee med refills before the 4th if the request is received after 5 pm tomorrow, July 2nd.

In recognition of the Memorial Day, we will be closed on Monday, May 26th 2025 and will reopen on Tuesday, May 27th 2025 for normal business hours. Thank you to all who have served!

We're spending our Easter weekend helping out this sweet family of pups! While mama Esperanza keeps fighting, her babies are being well cared for and loved.

It's and early this morning the first baby of the year made his appearance! Congratulations to Shannon and Avery on their adorable new c**t Knox, and to Amy on another successful pregnancy/birth from her great mare, Ruby! Mom and baby both checked out healthy and this little boy is sure to be a stunner when he grows up.

Great news! The missing foster from Melissa's Second Chances, Pierre, has been found! He stopped by the clinic to get checked over and make sure his incision was fine - he surprisingly did not seem fazed by his freezing wilderness adventure and all checked out okay!

As the incoming winter storm rolls in, please stay safe! Make sure all livestock and horses have enough food and hay, bring in any outside dogs or cats if you can, and ensure you have plenty of food and water. We currently have plans to be open normal business hours of Monday but we will make any late opening or closing announcements here. ❄️
