Lili had a training session to gain confidence in public places as well as learning to go along nicely on her leash. D'Art was there to show her how it's done.π

Tadah had a long journey to her new home yesterday. She went for a plane ride down to Florida to join her Uncle Henry and Aunty Flo. I am so excited for her. She will be having a beach life and I couldn't have wished for a better place and family for her to go home to.π

Morning playtime pups are now 7& 8 weeks!π
Little video clip from the whelping box this morning. Little Johnny Jr is making a lot of noise cuz he wants me to pick him up and rub his gums. They are all teething right now. It's kind of fun to see their little interactions checking each other out. They're beginning to try out their puppy play ability.

Everyone hears about the stories of a woman in labor be driven through a blizzard to get to a hospital to have her baby and ending up having it in her car; well it can be said now from personal experience, that In my opinion, I would much rather deliver one baby than multiples from the back of an SUV!
So here's what happened.Tula delivered her first pup without much effort but after a couple hours of stalled labor I felt it was time for intervention. Fat Chance!
Let's back up a bit. The day started out with an Ice storm warning and I was glad to not have to be out in it. It was not till I realized that I might need to get Tula to the vet that I felt the seriousness of my predicament.
I was happy when I knew she was delivering on a week day. I felt relieved that there would be Vets available if I needed them.
The seriousness of my predicament unfolded beginning with Tula not delivering her first pup early in the day. Timing is everything. She delivered late afternoon so by the time I knew I was in need of help it was getting late in the day. To exacerbate the situation. It was a raging ice storm going on and many businesses, including veterinary offices, were closing early for the day. I suddenly found myself in an emergency type situation.
Thank God for good friends! It really tells you the value of a friend when they are willing to come out in an ice storm to help you get where you need to go. My husband could not drive because someone needed to watch the puppies and dogs at home. I could not drive myself because somebody needed to watch Tula in case she started to have a puppy while we were driving to the vet. Suddenly there were dynamics that needed to be addressed quickly.
First finding who was open that had any knowledge or experience with reproduction. Second finding somebody who is willing and not afraid to drive in the icy weather.
In the meantime, I'm watching Tula and trying to help her to prog
