💖 Many companion birds are surrendered or rehomed around 2 years of age/when they transition from their sweet, needy baby phase into their natural adult stage.

This change is often misunderstood as aggression or disobedience, but it’s a normal part of development. Parrots are not domesticated animals; they remain biologically wild. As adults, they experience hormonal shifts, territorial instincts, and changes in social behavior that can vary by individual and even by season.

Understanding and respecting these natural behaviors is key to providing lifelong care. When we meet birds where they are, rather than expecting them to act like traditional pets, we build stronger, more compassionate relationships.
