A lot of people don’t know this but when I was new to the mustang world I got injured pretty badly. It was only a short 4 or 5 months after I started working with mustangs that I got thrown off a horse and into a corral panel. I had broken 3 bones in my lower right back and couldn’t even sit up or get to the bathroom on my own. It was traumatizing but I didn’t want to give up on my horse dreams. I had so much love for my horse beauty that I strived to get better for her, especially since she wasn’t the one to hurt me. I couldn’t give up on her. People wonder why I don’t ride 24/7 or why I only ride my horse when I do ride but don’t understand that it’s taken me close to 3 years to gain enough confidence back to throw my leg over my horse and ride again without constant anxiety and fear running through my body. If you ever feel dumb or bad about yourself for only feeling comfortable walking on your horse, or even only comfortable working from the ground, don’t! I get all the feelings your feeling but just know your not only still pushing through and working for your dreams but your learning so much from your bad experiences. Don’t give up! Keep going! There will be a time when everything falls back into place and you feel like your on top of the world again!
