Friday!!!

🌟 Did you know- that in the early 1900s the Friesian population dropped to around 500, endangering the breed??
The Friesian has a very soft spot in my heart, as we used to raise and breed them when I was a young girl- yet I had no idea these beauties went through such a drop!

For our fact this Friday- let's dive into a question I recieve often!

✨️What is the difference between Massage and Structural Integration?✨️

Massage focuses on relaxing and bringing circulation to the outermost layer of tissue and muscles- this promotes relaxation, relieves pain, and can help to prevent injury.

Structural Integration is targeting the fascia and the restrictions within it( fascia being basically a web that connects throughout the entire body-the muscles, tendons, ligaments, bones, ect).
Going into a session I get a feel for entire horses body, gain a trust so they are comfortable with the next step- finding areas of the fascia that are held- and then further working to unravel the puzzle of where the ROOT cause is. Alot of times when you find a holding of fascia there are more lingering in the deep that caused that initial one the practioner felt. This can affect the entire body- for example: one holding can be restricting movement in the right shoulder- creating compensation in left hind- the ribs become held, and so on!

The puzzle is what gets your horse feeling their best! And I'm crazy about being able to help solve it using primarily Structural Integration, but also Massage included!

In case you were wondering- there are Structural Integration sessions for yourself as well! Do a quick search with our friend Google- Structural
Integration or Rolfing in your area and look into having a series done on yourself! The results were mind blowing for me and I highly recommend having work done on yourself!

It's Friday!!!!
Fact of the day- Did you know horses can rotate their ears about 180° by using 10 muscles!
Side note: Ears communicate a horses mood, helping owners, and equine professionals like myself read how a horse is doing during our session!

Facty Friday!!!

The Longissimus Dorsi is the largest muscle in a horses back! It plays a major role in proper equine movement- ranging from stability of the spine to flexion of the back and neck! This muscle endures alot- especially with a rider, and is one of the many reasons you should constantly be checking the fit of your saddle on your horses ever changing body.
