If you shop at PetSmart and would like to give our phone number for rewards (360-884-9233) when you check out, we would be so appreciative!!🙏These eventually add up enough for us to buy food, medical needs, and supplies for our rescue kitties😻Thank you!!!🥰 And if you have any canned cat or kitten food, unopened bags of dry food or litter, or puppy pads, these can also be dropped off in our adoption room in the Lacey PetSmart on Sleater Kinney Road❤️

Little Miss Calistachio (her story is in a previous post) was feeling good enough for a bath!💦 She, of course, was an absolute angel!🥰We found some more fleas hiding that we hadn’t found to pick off of her yet💔Poor thing wouldn’t have made it much longer out there at all without rescue. She is feeling much better and fluffier now! Then she wanted lots of snuggles while we were drying her off and afterwards, too🙏

Meet Calistachio!😻This super cute little nugget was wandering around all by her little self at a rest area parking lot in California. People were all around, but one person had the heart to scoop her up & get her to safety🙏They looked all around for other kittens & mama, but couldn’t find any others so they bundled her up & took her with them. Since they looked up & saw a sign that said the city they were in was the “Pistachio Capital of the World”, they combined California with pistachio & came up with the super cute name of “Calistachio”🎉

❤️They were on their way up to Washington, so they set Calistachio up & she went along with them for the ride, 🚙 They connected with someone they knew in WA to help get her to us, then we were able to connect when they came into town.

💔When we saw her, we were so worried about a condition called “failure to thrive”. This is when everything is done right, all the tests are negative, and they receive all the care they could need, but their little bodies just can’t make it, they just can’t survive, even when nothing wrong can be found and their spirit is strong. We don’t see it very often, because we work so hard to save all that we can, but it was definitely a possibility here, especially combined with her being found all by herself with no support.

💔Calistachio came in dangerously dehydrated, extremely underweight, and had a scabbed over wound on her lip and her bottom was swollen and red. She is maybe five weeks old or so, or she’s older, but just didn’t grow very much. Off to the vet we go! She received greatly needed fluids and, despite her current condition, the vet exam went great!

🙏Severely underweight, barely weighing anything, so we’ve been working to find high-quality foods that she will eat. This girl needs to gain weight so badly! We’ve added probiotics to her diet as well. The vet was even worried about taking any of her blood for testing, because she was in such bad condition, she just couldn’t spare it. We waited to give her a full bath, because we were worried her body just couldn’t support the experience, so we carefully wiped her down with kitty-safe wipes. We couldn’t even flea comb her because she was so bony.

❤️She is so ridiculously sweet and wants to always be with people. She’s happiest when she’s being held and sure purrs like a champ!🥰 Calistachio is a true warrior having survived everything she has and the people who rescued her and worked so hard to get her to us have a heart of gold. We are so grateful to them for helping her! She wouldn’t have made it much longer, possibly just hours, if they didn’t scoop her up right then and cared for her.

❤️If you would like to help us as we navigate her care, please send all good vibes and positivity for her. We also always need help with supplies and finances, too, to continue our work. We thank you for always being a part of our rescue village to help these kitties!🙏❤️

Five more kitties fixed today! One is a happily owned kitty whose owners needed some low cost help for services. Three are siblings who will be coming into the rescue, and one is a surprise Tom that we had in a trap while trying to catch a mama🎉🎉 He wasn’t too happy with me, but he will be feeling SOOOOO much better, now, and will be much happier when he goes back😻

Took a load of kitties up to King County for spay and neuter and other services today🎉 We only post a small portion of what we do, because things are always crazy😹and this run is among many. We are so thankful for people who trust our rescue to help their kitties and also those who surrender them to us, so we can get services to them and find amazing homes😻 Among our run today is a kitten who was pulled out of some pallets by someone in a neighborhood where we have assisted in fixing over 100 kitties in, now big enough to get fixed. He will be going back into his loving foster home to heal up from surgery before he goes to his new home. We have two kittens getting fixed today from a business, where mama brought her babies, one kitty who previously had kittens and is now ready for fixing, and then we have 6 kittens from a caring person who has had some kitties dumped up their road and were multiplying. There are around 19, and we have taken in 9 so far, (one of which is at the vet today getting her rabies shot and then she’ll be ready for adoption with her brothers!). We will be getting another one soon, and then helping them fix the 9 skittish ones that are left for TNR on their property with a beautiful barn with lots of hay, food, shelter, and care, were they will be very happy!😻

Bath day for these 3 socializing kittens🛁🫧 Can you guess who purred first and who kept hissing?😹Everybody managed to squeeze out some purrs eventually, even against their will. Lol. Socializing these little beasts is so fun to watch them go though the steps towards getting ready for loving homes❤️
