Our Story
My name is Heather. I hold a AA in Criminal Justice, BS in Accounting, and a MBA (Healthcare Management). I work full-time in the healthcare industry, working from home as a caregiver. I am also retired from a state government position. Being a caregiver is a rewarding career, that enables me to have such a GREAT hobby. I am a home body and these lovely animals are my emotional support animals and part of my family. Some people golf, bowl, garden, take wild life photos, hike, mountain climb, can and make their own foods for recreation, but relaxing and caring for these Bengals is my form of recreation. Bengals are my hobby. We picked Bengals as our family pets because we have allergies and we wanted a smart, hypoallergenic pet.
We keep Bengal kittens until they are at least 12 weeks old to avoid behavioral problems associated with separating from the mother too soon. We want to ensure that our kittens are ready to positively interact with their new family, including children and other pets. By that time, they will have had their shots, been dewormed, eating solid food, and using the litter box. We only feed our cats gluten-free food for optimal health! All cats are registered with TICA.
http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=1+2137&aid=1542 - This is the average cost to care for a cat each year. However we spend over triple that amount per cat each year because we have registration fees, grounds maintenance, Gluten fee food, care packages that go home with new families, new cat trees & blankets per litter, housing, Color testing, Feline aids and Leukemia testing, cat sitters when we go away, shots, de-worming, shows, toys, advertising, web maintenance, cleaning supplies, flea treatments, and the list goes on. So as you can clearly see, this is a hobby and we do not make money on the sale of our kittens/cats. ALL PROCEDURES FROM THE SALE OF OUR KITTENS/CAT GOES DIRECTLY BACK INTO THE CARE OF THESE ANIMALS.
