UPDATE: No picture but Doug Shade from Minoggie Kennels has generously donated a certificate to our raffle for one month of field training at his facility on Sauvie Island in Portland, OR. He is the trainer I have been using and he does a great job! Guess where my tickets will be going!!!
Here are some of the larger raffle items that will be available at the Sunday and Monday shows at the beginning of National week. There will also be some embellished coats and jackets, wall hangings and a variety of baskets available to bid on and a ringside handling certificate from Martin Glover! Come prepared!

We need help at the WC. We need people who can hand throw birds and handle a starter pistol. The entries are rolling in and so far we have 15 with more being promised! This is a great learning experience for everyone!

The health clinic at the National still has open spots for both echos and eye exams. If interested please reach out to Marlys at [email protected]. Dr Woodfield will be doing the echos on October 1, Dr. Scherlie will be doing the eye exams on Thursday, October 5.

Keep watch for tomorrow! We are launching a 'spin the wheel' raffle for Labrador Week 2023! There will be 2 (count them TWO) chances to win a box of 25 AKC ReUnite Microchips! The raffle opens at 9 AM EST 8/24 and the goal is to have it filled by 5 PM EST Sunday 8/27. Get the word out and share with your friends!
Ok folks! Time to start thinking about the Raffle at our FIRST specialties in conjunction with the National. I (meaning Cindy Freeman) am gathering raffle prizes and we already have some really good ones. I will be taking pictures of the big ticket items that we have so far over the weekend and posting here. We want to make this very special so put your thinking caps on.
It would be best if I could get most of the prizes in advance so I can organize them and create tags. Please let me know if you have questions or can help!
The raffle will start on Sunday and tickets will be drawn on Monday during the lunch break.
I will also need help selling tickets on both days so if you have some time available, even an hour would be appreciated!

The Spin the Wheel Donation for the 2023 LRC, Inc. Hunt Test is now open.
What: This Spin the Wheel is for a brand new Picnic Time Chair and a Custom Painted Chair Back by Judy Heim!
How: There are 150 spots on the wheel. Each spot is a donation of $15. You can donate for as many spots as you want. Names will be randomly placed on the wheel. If your name is the winner the chair will be purchased and sent directly to you. Then you unscrew the back and send it to Judy along with a picture of your dog. She will then discuss with you exactly what setting you want with your dog’s picture. She will then paint it, send it back and all you have to do is screw it back on and you’ve got your custom painted chair back that will be the envy of all your friends!!
When: The wheel will spin after the 150 slots are filled. Our goal is Sunday June 25th but could be earlier if we fill the spots fast.

The Working Certificate test is on July 1st. This is considered an instinct test so not a lot of formal training is required. The link below explains what is required by the LRC for a working certificate.

It has been a fantastic bidding process to watch unfold with all the breeders who are putting their support where their pocket book is! Thank you to all the breeders both stud dog owners and bitch owners for your support! The MRLRC cannot state enough how important this auction is to our savings as we head into hosting the week long LRC 2023 National Events with our wonderful and supportive sister club, The Puget Sound LRA! Being a brand new Club that has only been AKC licensed since last June we are forever grateful to those breeders who heeded our call!
