Tomatoes for your BLTs! Corn, cornito peppers, yellow squash, and zucchini for the grill! Cantaloupe and watermelon for dessert (yes, they are that delicious and sweet!) Our teenager labor force went back to school today so we will be a little slower with picking today. Stand is full, however, and more to come in a few hours once picking and packaging is complete. We will have a lot to sell and hope we can become a part of your school pickup routine!

Summer growing season is flying past! Some beds are already being pulled up and prepared for Fall cover crops!
Wow! What a beautiful morning. This seems like it will be a great evening for a fire pit. Our 15 year old cuts, splits, hauls, and stacks firewood to sell. He offers it on the honor system and asks that you consider pricing it comparable to what you might pay elsewhere.
Perhaps you will have friends over for your fire pit and need snacks.....like cherry tomatoes...please....?😁

Introducing hot Serano Chili Peppers and mild Cornito peppers. I taste subtle fruity undertones on both with the chilies being very hot. Maybe I am crazy though.

Afternoon update for your evening commute. Inventory as shown plus currently restocking.
Picked our first batch of Hot Serano chili peppers today. A few Cornito peppers. Lots of everything else
Okay....I get it. The storm threw me around like crazy and then I am picked and made to sit here on this plain wooden shelf in this cramped produce stand being forced to watch my plain green cucumber cousin and annoying little pickling cucumber nephew sell like crazy while everyone just walks past me....
I have realized that maybe I am trying too hard to be fancy, flashy, pretty, unique. I am so bright that I come across high maintenance and unfamiliar and exotic and even unapproachable.
I just want everyone to know that deep down on the inside I am just a simple cucumber. Beneath this fancy exterior you can use me any way that you would use my cousin and nephew. Just look me up and keep an open mind. Everyone wants to feel valued....and yet my people keep marking me down and down and down. I am only a dollar now! A dollar!? That's less than my cousin.
I am only treated and nourished with organic treatments! A dollar!?
Please save me from this embarrassment. See me and appreciate me for who I am....I am not just a pretty face.
We now have black diamond watermelon!!! We figured a lot people would come for the watermelon so we made sure to have plenty of other produce as well. We have lots of cantaloupe, sweet corn, Roma tomatoes, and cherry tomatoes! We also have eggplant, onions, garlic, shish*to peppers, bell peppers, Jalapeños, banana peppers, large cucumbers, small snacking cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, asian beans, green beans, and purple beans. We also have a few dozen eggs and will put more out later.
Lots still to pick and put out, so more information to come in the next post.
Figuring out what we will have but for now I can say that we have a lot of San Marzano Roma tomatoes that really need sold.

A couple sales today: Lemon cucumbers 2 for $3 and Roma and slicing tomatoes are $1off a pound. Plenty of other goodies too and picking more.
Sorry again about running out of sweet corn yesterday afternoon. Tough to have a work/life balance this time of year. We had a family event that pulled us away from the produce stand for the day so couldn't restock. If you came out and missed the corn we hope you will give us another try.
On another note, if you have plastic grocery bags you are looking to put to good use we are out in the stand. We would gladly accept them.
Same with empty ice cream buckets. We pick with them and ours are steadily giving up under the strain of tomato season.

We made a point to plant pollinator friendly plants in our landscape beds and orchard. Love that we are seeing more pollinators settling into home here. Our own bees are everywhere, and today we discovered this little guy and a friend enjoying our Butterfly Bush. Never seen this species before. Remember being a child and being delighted and transfixed when you discovered a whole new "bug"? Where does that awe go and why do we let it go?
